2020 Pro Ultimate. What type of spanner do you use to adjust the front shock preload? A crows foot style? From? Thanks!

This is the tool I got with my 21 RZR Trail ultimate 900. Its also is used for changing the belt

Should be a tool in your tool kit bag from the factory that works for front/rear. Just did mine.

 

I have the tool shown by Quick. It's so congested at the top of the front shock when it is installed that I don't see a way to actually use the tool. The tool works ok for rear shock adjustment. Maybe I'm missing something.

 

Remove the shock to adjust it..

 

I removed mine. Jack it up to where almost all the weight is off the spring. 2 15mm wrench, remove bottom bolt/nut then the top. If you can compress the spring before turning spanner wrench it will help. The spanner nut is about .75 to 1 ratio. For ever 3/4" you move it gives you approx 1" of height adjustment.

 

I didn't remove my front shocks to adjust.
There is definitely no room to use the tool on the driver side without removing the shocks.
Basically, with dynamix, make sure the suspension is in soft mode, key on. I had my wife and daughter both sit on the front to weigh it down as much as possible, then wrapped a ratchet strap through the spring over and over then tightened it to the lower arm as they bounced....
Then, jack up the vehicle, and I had a bit over an inch of space between the top spring and the preload ring. Break it loose with a punch and I was able to adjust it by hand.....😁

I use a spring compressor. then back off the upper lock nut with the tool supplied and adjust lower nut with my fingers. I dont take the shocks off but they come of easy if you want to take them off.

 

What spring compressor do you use? The ones I tried wouldn't work.

 

I use this one. It will work but it's way easier just to pull them, compress them and adjust them off the car.

I use the automotive kind that look like an upper and lower hook on a threaded rod

 

That style won't work in the front, at least on the dynamix shocks. You can only get them on the bottom 3 coils.
