After installing their kit I went on my first ride. I didnt have any problems during the ride. But the next day while I was cleaning off the 900, I noticed the flex-PVC was splitting where it comes off the airbox. If your looking at the back of the bike, its the area right near the first bend that goes forward. I really think the heat from the exhaust is weakening the ribs and its splitting. Here are some pics of the splits. THANK GOD I have a big lift and tires. The water didnt reach this area and the inside of my airbox is dry as a bone. Hope yall have better results.

Well i was going to go with the triangle kit but I'm not to excited about that flex hose. I would much rather see it hard piped.

Hope they get it taken care of for u. You think it's possible to hard pipe it?

Yea, Im gonna replace with hard PVC anyways. I wasnt too happy with that type of flex in the first place. Im not sure why they decided to use this type. There are MUCH better flex-pvc than that spa-hose type.

#5 ·
Did you notice any difference in throttle response or power at all? Alot of other people are saying the flex hose is only 1.5" on the intake and it is cutting down air flow causing decreased performance. What size pipe are you planning to run in its place?

#6 ·
There is a loss in power for sure. Im gonna do a 2" hard PVC because it will be just as easy to run that than a 1.5"

#7 ·
Gotya... hopefully the 2" will fix the power problems. Did you go ride tower trax this past weekend? We went last night and it was muddy and the water was high

#8 ·
No, we were going to be there today. But this snorkel damage ended that idea. I went to Mudslide in Arnaudville Saturday. Good thing I caught it when I did! I like to ride that pond at Tower Trax. Im sure I would have had a BAD day.

Gotya... How is mudslide? Its a little less than 2 hours from us we might have to try it out. Im tryin to find the best snorkel setup for these XPs so i can get mine done and not have any loss or power or throttle response. im ready to ride deep. Had to go around alot of the holes at tower trax.

Mudslide is pretty good! Ill post some pics and vids soon. They have a truck pit and an ATV pit with about 100 acres of trails.

Well, the best way is to do it yourself. Unless you go with a minimum 2" intake your gonna lose power. I felt that since Triangle is bigtime Polaris that this would be a top-notch product. They actually replied to one of my messages and stated that there is no loss of power. Well, I can tell you the first time I pressed the gas I could tell there was a loss. I sent Triangle a message with these pics attached. Hopefully they can come up with a better piece of flex pvc. (Or just hard-pipe it). I have snorkeled MANY atvs and figured that I would just come out of pocket for a kit since this is my first polaris and first SxS. I guess Ill just have to remove everything and do it all over.

madppcs I have the triangle kit from triangle for my 900 and those little closed loop systems they sent for the vent lines blew my transmission seal out and got oil in my belt housing, so after seeing the flex pipe on your bike im going to have to check mine out, not to impressed with this system so far...

#13 ·
You talking about the bellows? Or do you mean the crankcase vent? I HIGHLY advise anyone with the snorkel kit to do an inspection. Better to catch it early than start having issues while in the mud or out on the trail.

So Triangle responded to my message to them. They are more than willing to make things right. So that says alot about them. Im actually kinda impressed with the quick response and willing to do what it takes. At first they wanted to send me another intake section pre-wrapped with a heat shield. But in my opinion would actually inhibit me from seeing any additional or repeat problems. So I told them I am actually going hard pipe it. They then asked me what do they need to do to make things right. In my case, I dont have any damage so things are good on my part. Only need about 10$ and a quick trip to lowes,lol.. Im going to email them back and only suggest they maybe do a hard pipe section just like the CVT exhaust. Ill keep yall posted on what they say.

Thanks for the update... That's a good conversation you had with them. Both of you are taking reasonable positions. Says a lot about both of you...
Definitly keep us posted and show us some pictures of what/how you choose to solve it.

Yea I've always done my own snorkels too and snorkeled my friends bikes but I had the same thinking that since this a new side by side and triangle is known for good snorkel setups on popo's that i would go ahead and get the kit and do it right. Or so I thought lol.... Guess its not that easy. Did they say anything about the loss in power? Guess its back to the drawing board and more research to build my own kit and do it right the first time.

madppcs this is what I am talking about, couldn't think of what they called them "bellows", hopefully my bike will be done by this weekend b/c we have a trip to canal rd planned...im going to have to hard pipe my snorkel too i guess

YEAH WELL BE AWARE OF THE TRANSMISSION BELOW.. I INSTALLED SNORKEL KIT WENT AND ROAD MY XP AROUND THE BLOCK CAME BACK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING ON MY CAR PORT.... TOOK IT TO DEALER 600 HUNDRED TO RE SEAL THE SPLIT IN THE TRANSMISSION WERE THE TWO HALVES SEAL BACK TOGETHER... DEALER SAID BELOW WAS TOO STIFF AND IT CAUSED TO MUCH PRESSURE INSIDE THE CASE.....BELIEVABLE CAUSE IT DIDNT LEAK UNTIL I PUT THE KIT ON..... SO I CALLED TRIANGLE REAL NICE ASKED THEM TO DO SOMETHING MABEE SPLIT BILL WITH ME THEY SAID THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME THIS HAPPENED A MONTH AGO IVE CALLED TWICE AND IM GUESSING WITH THEM NOT CALLING ME BACK THERE TELLING ME UR SCREWED......IVE BEEN WAITING TO POST THIS AND CHECKING THESE FORUMS EVERYDAY BEFORE I SAID SOMETHING WELL HERES MY TIME.....BAD BUSINESS:rm_thumbdown:

#18 ·
Maaaaan, as soon as I read this^^ I went pull the bellows off,lol.. How do I tell if there is trans fluid in the transmission? My RZR has been parked in grass being washed for the last couple days. So I wouldnt see if there was a leak.

#19 ·
This is only my opinion and thoughts guys. I always thought the bellows had there place. Front and rear diff. I thought the tranny and transfer case might generate a little more heat causing the bellows to max out at full extention. Seals would be the next to go. Could be wrong though.

#22 ·
Thats for the rear diff right? I thought RZRXPLE900 was talking about his trans losing fluid?

#23 ·
The xp differential and tranny are one and the same
Mine has been fine so far with bellow. Triangle probably waiting on another promblem as the same. If no others have a promblem then just a bad seal with a void warrenty cause you snorked it
.

#24 ·
Madppcs im talkin about trans fluid and i was kind of hoping triangle would do something before i posted this well they didnt so beware of this company and i hope they read this cause they know exacty who i am they have my number and everything. Now all i have left is a few more forums to post in

#26 ·
I understand completely. That you hope or assume triangle may help you since dealer blamed the bellow on the seal failure. You must understand that if only 1 out of 500 kits have a promblem triangle more than likely isn't gonna do crap . Polaris would have warrentied the seal had not the snorkle installed. I understand your fishing but if you catch anything let us all know.

#27 ·
You do know you could have just had a bad seal that decided to start leaking right after the install. Now if several starts leaking with the kit something may happen with triangle but doubt anything more than a bulletin.

#29 ·
I have the kit and yet to have any problems at all, but there is a lose of power. Talked to some others about this and from what i gather you need a large "staging" area for air to pull from not notice the lose in power ie why the factory made suck a big chamber before the air box. If anyone finds a better way plz post pics. I really dont think you will notice a big increase just by going to 2". Just my 2 cents.

#41 ·
Theres no way they gained power with ONLY reducing the intake size. Ill post a pic of the difference in the stock size intake tubing and compare it to a 1.5" diameter. Their kit cant be much different than the Triangle setup as far as routing. And I lost power with the triangle setup. I am in the process of re-plumbing to a 2" intake. And Im using a MUCH better flex PVC than what triangle shipped to me. I dont think that was even PVC. I think its a Spa-Hose.
