Friend has 2021 XP1000 four seater and during a climb or a strenuous run it may sometimes come on , but at a slow speed. This happenes intermittently. Other times it runs as it should. In order to continue riding the fan has been temporarily bypassed from the harness, and hooked up to the buzz bar to operate while the engine is running. As it is very warm where it is being used there is no cold engine problem. Can this be a heat sensor located somewhere on the engine? Any help appreciated.

The machine has a thermistor that controls the fan.. I'm not familiar with your particular machine, so here's a link to the downloadable service manual, you'll find it in there

This is bad. Your friend's easy cure is a fan override switch if the problem cannot be resolved troubleshooting using the manual. I should have a fan override switch.
