This topic has been done before so why not do it again. I would like this to evolve into a single view page so members don't have to sift very far. I can do this by using everyone's input and editing those posts into this original post. Who's first?

Sent from my secure bunker(padded cell) inside HQ BFCCC(brain fart command & control center)

Don't assume the dealer attached your intake hoses properly. Thankfully mine was the CVT Intake and not the main air box. Also don't assume they filled your fluids properly. Check every fluid before you drive it. In fact, just assume they did a poor job and check everything regardless. Also, your anti-freeze reserve will likely be empty after the air burps are done. You can just fill it back up.

Also the manual only shows 13 grease zerks for a 2014 but there are in fact 17.

I think we're so well-behaved we run on autopilot...

#6 ·
Grease wheel bearings, hubs, a-arms, shock ends, sway bars hangers and holders, ball joints, and the yoke splines on the prop shaft. If done properly, the 17 zerks will be enough to maintain the proper amount of grease needed to stop premature wear on moving parts.

Cheap grease is cheap crap and you don't want to get cheap with the grease, buy good grease. Spending a few dollars more on good grease, can save hundreds of dollars in new parts.

Bad - pulled it off the trailor and into the garage to do a "once over" to check everything. what i found was ---- lug nuts not much tighter than finger tight, transfer case was low, transmission was real low on fluid, random bolts were loose, radiator was low on antifreeze, does polaris have a QC guy in their factories? i spent the better part of two days going front to back on this thing.

Good - Not the manufacturers fault. That is a result of crappy dealer prep. When I picked up my new RZR, they went over the whole machine including fluids with me. I was also provided a checklist of all setup steps completed signed by a tech. I would have taken it right back to the dealer and told them to do their setup and I would be sure to tell Polaris how you received your machine.

Enuf already

Ya the rear hub bushings might be self lubricating until you inject dust, dirt and mud into them. I added grease fitting there at less than 100 miles and the steel bushings and bolts had wear already and not to mention they started to squeak really bad. Then after riding the grease also made a difference on the ride because the suspension moves much easier. Polaris doesn't forget to add anything, its about cost savings and maximum profits and if that weren't true everything wouldn't say made in china on my 570.

Same "self-lubricating" delrin bushings used in the inner control arm points and they have zerks... None of the RZR's, 570 up thru XP1000, have zerks on the bearing carriers. Yet the 550 and 850 Sportsman have them.

When doing a bolt check I found the bolts on the A pillars of the cage were loose. Also a third bolt towards the inside of the rig on the cross member, were not bolts at all, but self tapping screws. I drilled holes all the way through the frame member and installed 3/8" bolts. Really shoddy factory attachment.

#11 ·
Rear hub bushings are not self lubricating. Grease them properly when you first get your RZR and they will be good for many miles, no need for a zerk.

#13 ·
There should have been zerts installed by the factory on any moving part that can cause friction and wear. After working on my ride this Spring, I found mine to be all corroded and worn.
I wasn't aware that I should have known to remove & grease them up when I bought it. I assumed that it was designed properly and set up correctly from the factory. My mistake!
Thanks to all on the Forum that point out issues that need to be checked or addressed!
I wish I would have greased & added the 4 zerts sooner as I believe that's where most of the rear squeaking came from.

intake, filtration, dusted, fixes, links, frustration, damnation -

a very old poll(started in 2008 and has 300 replies) way before the existence of the 570, it's really not much different than the last few years of struggling with a modest upgrade that works for the 570. When you see me post that all Polaris models have this issue, here's the dumb azz stuff i read to make that statement.
http://www.rzrforums.net/general-rzr-discussion/2880-intake-issue-questions-fixes.html

We complain, we search, we implement, we complain some more, and then we tell each other it's going to be alright. And it is, going to be alright, at a $$ and time cost.
Your time should not be spent going back and forth to the stealer. Pick one thing to get right at a time, getting clean air into the motor has gotta rank somewhere top 3.

We give each other must have's and wish lists and somehow let it slip that correcting this issue is a mainstay of Polaris design flaws. Make clean/cleaner/cleanest air a priority.
It'll cost a little, pre filter add on's, snorkels(but for goodness sake don't buy a pre-fabbed one, DIY for less than half of a kit) or a lot , air box re-designs, UMP, DRF, & Donaldson canister types.

...Does anyone think making big, huge, bold, fonts & colors at the very beginning would do anything to improve that request?...
All Caps and/or Bold and/or larger font can make section titles and section subtitles easier to see and it helps the eye recognized the divided sections. For example:

the u-joints (prop shaft) are the same as the 800's

so if you want a good greaseable replacement U-joint found at your local parts house...

precision 338 is what you need.

edit in POC thread to first post

also, i have a hard copy(jheath upgraded to the new 900 and sold off his 570 stuff)
of the 2013-14 Service Manual part # 9924883 to share when i'm around if you haven't downloaded the online copy of the international edition. PM your email address of the section your working on would maybe be the easiest, i don't plan on scanning and transferring the whole book.

I would check the battery voltage before starting.

Galaxy gadget.

#23 ·
check the harness that goes between the tail lights. it hangs over the muffler and has known to come loose and melt on the exhaust.

glad to help. there is/was a plastic clip that pushes into a hole in the frame. many have found that the clip isn't pushed in all the way.

Wow. Now that's the power of the Forum! Question asked. 4 hours later problem solved. Fantastic! Awesome!

I am about to do the break-in oil change on my '15 570...I have searched here but am not having luck.
What oil and filter is recommended and what is the general capacity of the engine?

I usually stock up when I buy maintenance items so I will probably buy in bulk...
Any other info would be great - thnx! :ride:

While under warranty many recommend staying with the Polaris oil and filter. I did for the first change. Oil capacity is 2 quarts. I now use 5w-50 Mobil 1 oil and a Fram Tough Gard filter but don't have the number with me. There are a bunch of threads on this with compatibility listings.
