Running pretty good today at local spot....it was 101 degree outside, running pretty hard and on my aftermarket temp gauge it was reading 220... Never triggered any lights on Polaris speedo... Is there one? I'm running a vented hood, but thinking may get new radiator to help... Could running to rich cause to run hot? Does engine ice and or water wetter really help? What's best aftermarket radiator?

Yup, my recommended warning temp (for max) is 230 degrees... As for normal operating temps i'd have to drive more than 10-15 minutes to find out:rofl3: right now my health won't allow that:)

Good luck!

Ehhh, more issues w/ the heart 48 hours ago(it came w/ some severe headaches as well).. That's why I wasn't on at all yesterday or today.. My home nurse came & took care of me.

I'm in bed w/ the IPad tending to my addiction:D no worries though, Pre Op on the 7th & surgery soon, they will get this metal out of my spinal cord & I can live again!

My normal operating temperature is 190 F when rolling. Haven't seen much more than that even when running in 100+ degree weather in Moab or at home in Colorado.

I did install the Quadovator switch that allows me to turn on the fan whenever I want. It does include the light that tells you when the fan is on.

For real hot weather running you might want to run the fan at all times. Note that with the Quadovator switch, shut the machine off with the switch on and the fan keeps running.

Just one other thought, have you raised the front of your machine and "burped" the coolant system to make sure there is no air in it?

I live in texas and beat on my rzrs pretty hard. The other day we were riding and it was 105 outside. Rode all day, cruises at 200 degrees, fan comes on at 205 on the slow trails. I have seen it hit 210 for about 5 seconds, then the fan has it back down to 190.... Hotest i have seen it was after a hard run and immediatly shutting the rzr off. Started it up about 5 minutes later and it was at 227, since there was no fan on and no circulation. It shot down to 190 about 30 seconds after starting it though.

Mine normally runs 190-204. Friday we were at Hatfield&McCoy and got into some pretty deep mud and a very dusty ride. At the end of the day we hit some very long and steep fast hill climbs. Temp got up to 235 and the temp light came on. I stopped and let it idle and surely but slowly it came down. The RZR was working hard with about 550lbs of weight on it. Got home and sprayed out radiator and its all good. I am not sure but I always heard running lean would make an engine overheat and running rich would cause excessive heat in the headers.
