I wonder why someone hasnt thrown a 145hp Harley Davidson style V-twin in a RZR. Since the tranny is a seperate unit it can be left off and the primary CVT clutch can be mounted directly to the crankshaft of the V-twin. Any V-4 engines set up like a Harley?
Seems like this would be much cheaper than the Weber or R1 conversions. Should take less fab too.

LOL I am not thinking of the HD as a good canidate... I just used it to illastrate the concept... There have to be good v2 or v4 engines out there without trannies cast into the engine case.I havent done any research yet. I just wanted to start a conversation and see where it goes... :)

OK so a Rotax 990cc v twin. 139hp at the crank. AKA Can Am or Aprillia.
Where do you find these used? I didnt see any on Ebay or on Google.

What side does the primary come out? You could remove the passenger area and have it where a passenger normally sits.

Too all of you asking we did it. My cousin officially has an le 50 inch with a bored and stroked 1700 v4 yamaha vmax engine. Bored and stroked to an 1850. We own a shop that is known to produce some very "different" builds. After both of us owning the previous vmax 1200's and knowing the power they possessed we figured why the hell not put a 1700 in an rzr. It took alot of doing and frame modification and not sure if I would do it again. But the end result since we built some custom engine covers that hide it was people hearing it when he starts it stating that doesnt sound right, to xp1k owners crapping themselves in a race on the dunes. Ill be posting pictures soon on the entire build.
