I’ve recently seen a lot of posts with the 1k turbo engines failing with low hours/miles. It maybe from poor assembly or parts or even customer abuse. Overall, how has it historically been longevity wise on these engines? In the case of a rebuild- what is the average costs of a crate motor from Polaris vs a good shops for a straight rebuild?

Friend has a rental business and its not uncommon for the machines to rack up 5,000 miles April-Nov. People get their moneys worth and more. I would not believe it if I had not seen the odometers myself. Not all his machines are Polaris.

I had to buy a new engine recently because of 1st owner abuse/lack of maintenance. I went thru Bikeman performance. Brand new 2021 crate engine for $3300. Bad thing is it has no warranty. But Polaris only gives you 6 months and the price difference isn't worth it to me. I wont be going crazy with horsepower and ill break it in and maintain it properly. Some guys think I change the oil too much but I say it can't hurt. These things can last as long as you don't abuse the shit out of them.
