Hey I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a cheaper option for an electric wiper. I built a glass windshield for my xp 1000 and I'm trying to get away from paying the huge cost for the Polaris wiper. Thanks

I wish I could recall the mans name but I met a feller at Taylor Park last August with a really nice electric wiper setup
He's a member here tho.

I'm thinking of using a rear wiper from a Ford Escape or Subaru Outback. Was following one down the road and they wipe about 170 degrees. I'll mount motor up between the windshield and rearview mirror. I don't think I need multiple speeds. Not sure how the install will go. Still in the planning stages and I have to build my windshield first.

After a little research the units we got from the Surplus Center are a Marinco wiper. The part number is 38000-2 on the motors that I got.. I'm waiting for a response from surplus center. Information from Marinco is on their web site, looks like you have to go through a dealer. The Polaris wiper arm Part number 4010705 fits this motor. We used a NAPA # 819-5835 18 inch blade. I think mounting at the top of the window would be best but I didn't have room in the frame I built.

You might try this one AFI-31100-12v 110° sweep, it's is on e=bay for around $60. The marinco from surplus center is no longer available from them....damb. they were only $30.
