Good Morning.
My best friend and I purchased a Rzr 800 4 seater in February. Best purchase in our lives! Since, we have been getting great advice on how to ride trails and perform maintenance on our Buggy.
But the 'advice' we got yesterday kind of threw me for a loop. Ok, I know we are silly little girls and all, but "you shouldn't mud in the Rzr, you are going to tear it up".
o_O really?
Now grant it, the men that told us this are strictly trail riders. They don't get muddy at all. But don't mud?
Before every ride, we do a general check of everything to make sure she is ready to run - After every ride, she get washed top to bottom with seats out so we can get to all the mud. Randomly during the ride, we check the front to make sure the radiator is free of mud and can breathe.
Are we silly little girls or are we dealing with jealous men in their old 2 seaters? lol

Well I am 28 and I prefer trailriding to mudding. I have a 2011 rzr s in north dakota and a lot of the mudholes we come across in the missouri river bottoms is nasty rotten mud that may or may not have a bottom and with the way the rzr throws mud everywhere I will drive around mud if possible.

I don't mind water crossings and such but i think most factory rzr's don't do well in thick sticky mud. And when modding the rzr with big mud tires, snorkels, axles, tow points you do stand a better chance of damaging things. Or damaging things during recovery of your stuck rig. But just as much damage can be done rock crawling, jumping, racing. Any of us who really use our machines aren't always nice to them and realize things will break.

All I do is mud! Unless its deeper than 5 feet deep! Then I can't breath in the rzr and ire rzr only has a couple inches left to breath.

Just be careful of the thick "peanut butter" mud. It can break things in a hurry!

All I do is mud ride..As everyone is saying keep up the maintanence...i.e...differential oil, motor oil, grease..check all those things and youll be fine...It WILL stain alot underneath though..Once you go mudding, if you get really muddy, youll be able to tell it..The day i bought mine i dropped it in a big hole and broke it in right and i have no problems.

It's all in the prep work tht is done before dunking em in water or mud.

Snorkel it for insurance, just bc it's snorked you don't have to be a submarine!
Snorkel the cvt, air intake, 6 vent lines, radiator overflow, seal up the cluster, and address the weep hole.
Dielectric grease all electrical connections, spark plug boots, fuses, etc.
Test your CVT with water and PLEASE put a drain in for your belt!
Test the air intake by suffocating it with ur hands and see if it holds pressure.

When ur done rinse it off. Makes it easier to check if everything is ok and to do maintenance!

Most of all have fun! Be safe! And everyone likes what they like!

Ive been muddin mine since day 1. Running 30" Gorilla Silverbacks and a 3" CATVOS lift. My only prob Ive ever had is a front diff. Got it in a bind and pow. Oh well gonna play gotta pay. Ive only replaced 1 axle and 2 boots and Im now over 1000 miles on it. BTW, the 4 is one of the best muddin machines out. I usually go more places than a 2 seater b/c of its length and width. Here's a few pix:

I would agree that mudding like some folks do requires a bit more maintenance but a lot of people sure do have fun at it. I'm not one of them but to each him's own. I went in the mud (muddy water anyway) up to my belt loops one day after letting my 4 year old grandson steer while I did the gas and discovered having brown squishy stuff in my drawers is something I think will be lots more fun after they put me in a nursing home someday.
I get mine muddy as H#&& but not intentionally. Besides as long as you guys are doing ity, we get to see all the vids and pictures all the while thinking dammmmiiiittttt! Shore glad I ain't gotta wash that thing. :rofl3:
