Hey guys. ? For you all. Do you bring your pooch along with you? I have a bulldog that goes everywhere with me and was wondering if you bring your dog along for rides and what kind of harness you use. My pup doesn’t jump around at all and is pretty chill. I just don’t want her being knocked around and I’m trying to find a solution

I use this harness on my service dog:

It comes with a short strap to attach the back of his harness to the seatbelt strap. I use that as a keychain. I felt that there would be too much play in it. I want him just as secure as I am.

Kurgo sells a strap that goes from his harness and clips into the stock seatbelt. I'll try to get a couple pics of it in my truck, my RZR isn't here at the moment. Here's the link for this strap:

I'm sorry... This is WAY off topic. I occasionally see photos with this photobucket banner covering the picture. Why?

Just be honest with yourself about the kind of riding you're doing. If it's long easy trails in the mountains then probably all good. If you're riding off-road parks with a lot of obstacles, I'd consider if it is the best thing. God forbid you go over, even being in seatbelts it can be violent for a person. I'd hate to think about a pet being thrown. I've seen a couple nearly launch their dogs out the back of their four seater after being surprised by a sharp turn. We all love RZRs and never plan on accidents, but they do happen and you never can plan on it.

Our pit loved to ride with us. Our Bull Terrier hates it. Our German Shepard would probably like it but she is way to big. We didn't use harnesses but we didn't ride anything crazy with the dogs. Just gentle slow cruising on tame trails. We do use a harness that click in the the seatbelt when they are in the truck with us. Except the Shepard. She rides in a strapped down kennel in the truck bed.

We got 2 pugs that go everywhere with us, including rzr rides. They don't listen or behave, so to protect them from themselves I added a cage, wrapped it in mesh netting, pipe insulation for padding and plywood/insulation/carpet sandwich for heat protection. I do have to run with no windshield to keep the dust out of the bed, but we're not going fast anyway.

The dogs love it and start howling the moment the rzr rolls out of the garage. Much unlike my spoiled teenage kid.

Our first two rides had our dogs coated with so much dust they looked like powdered doughnuts. That's why we got rid of the half windshield to allow better flow through air and dust control, but the best thing I did was install our wind wings. No more dust on us or the dogs. Everybody including the cab stays clean.

Pretty much a given unless we are hitting it fast or gnarly. If it's a trip in the woods and not really bad - then they both go in the crate I made for the back of the RZR. I used insulated padding all the way around (bottom, front and edges as well as back) and a dog bed on top of that. The side near the dogs isn't even warm to the touch and the ventilation with no windshield works perfect.

Just spent the last 3 days riding (camping and fishing) around 7800ft here to get away from the Pheonix heat. 85 in the hills and 116 at home.. I usually will zip tie a towel to the top of the crate to keep it shaded..

I’ve got a German Shepard that thinks she owns the Ranger. It doesn’t move without her inside it. She just sits in the back seat, though. No restraints. She prefers ascending but can deal with downhills as needed, lol
