Why not get an emergency brake kit and set the brake for safety sake and, it will allow you to start your Rzr whenever you want. No hacking of wires and takes the stress off the tranny. The only real drawback is, like others have mentioned, your brake lights will be on when you start it.

...Unplug the wires and jump them. it should start, and your brake lights should also be on all the time...
and as a bonus this could melt your lenses!

You'll need to dig deeper into the wiring to bypass the safety switch without making your brake lights ON all the time. Not worth it IMO.
There are a lot of line locks being used as parking brakes... I wonder why there haven't been more reports of melted lights...?
I think he is referring to the fact that your tail lights are on anytime key is on when wire's are jumped, so after a full day of riding tail lights may melt. Not referring to a line lock when parked & short idle times.... ??

yeah i thought that was right i was saying that mine arealways on cause people are saying they shouldn be
They are saying if you jump the brake switch te brake lights will be on when the key is on...the tail lights always come on but there is another filament That is powered when the brake is applied( signal made via brake pressure switch), if you jump the both tail light and brake light filiments will be powered. Tracking now?
I agree one of the parking brakes that mount near the steering column works well for starting without getting in, just reach in set it by hand then start the machine and if you don't need to brake you can release it so the brake lights go out...

Seems that Polaris still has this even with my 2013 model. It doesn't sense me pushing the pedal therefore it won't start. 17,000 piece of shit, lol!!!! I can't believe there is no easy fix to bypass that stupid safety issue without one keeping your brake lights on full time and or essentially disabling them. Hope someone can figure out this switch problem!!!

I installed pilot LED lights from autozone on my rzr and it disabled the foot brake start. The lights are always on with the key now and there is no difference in running lights and break lights but since they are leds it won't melt the lenses

As someone commented....get a parking brake. The RXUTV "Pawltector" requires you to step on the brakes, then use the other foot to move the locking lever over the brake pedal arm.

This way you have the brake pedal depressed, so it will start from outside the cab. Plus you have safety as the machine won't lurch and possible take off when it starts...yeah...they will do that!!

Plus, with a parking brake you don't ever have to put the trans in Park and worry about not being able to get it out of Park...yeah...they will do that.

I use the Pawltector and often times start the machine from the outside....safely!!!

The brake pressure switch just completes a circuit when pressed in. What I did to bypass if it fails or to start with out the brakes on was to run two wires from both terminals on the BPS to a momentary rocker switch on the left hand side of the dash so I can just press the switch and then turn the key to start instead of pressing the brakes, this way the brake lights are not on all the time and its easy to start out side of the machine.

Plus you can dis-connect the BPS leads so only the momentary switch (that could be hidden) will start it as a security measure but you have to re-connect the BPS leads before you ride so you have brake lights.... good for out of town rides.
