I got the Dash cut and removed. What a PITA! Even cut in 1/2 it was difficult to remove. I may trim this one a ton to see if it makes it easier, if not, I'll just pull the cage and remove replace it.

I made the center plate out of 1/8"x2" Aluminum. I put a slight bend in it to match the dash, drilled the holes, lined it up and then marked them in the plastic. I'll paint the aluminum with spray can Duplicolor bed liner. Looks identical to factory plastic.

Then slid the piece to the side to use it as a guide to cut the panel. I used a new blade and it cut through pretty easily.

Then forced the panels out towards the front of the RZR.

Before I cut the dash I made a templete of the entire center section in case I decide to make a new piece out of aluminum.

Watching closely. Nice work so far. Went out and eyeballed my cherry picker wondering if I can fab up a fixture to slide under the roof bars of the cage to pick it up when I need to get under the hood. I think it can be done, just slide it into the boom.
I dunno.

Nice work. Disappointing that aftermarket cage vendors would let this issue get by. I'm thankful that you brought this issue up.
Not a lot a cage vendor can do about it if you want a dash bar/intrusion bars. If you raise it up enough to clear it looks goofy. Also can block the view of a shorter driver.

Keep the pic coming. Tore my rzr apart for add ons and put the SDR cage on the other day. Was not done with the wiring so my dash is laying on the floor. I do not want to take the cage off. Was a real pita to put on.

This is the situation I am in, had dash and hood off when i stalling cage (UTVINC). I am looking at cutting off the lower hanging plastic pieces on the dash and sliding it in or either removing the small storage above the glovebox on my Turbo S as that seems to be the problem area. It seems that one could remove the plastics around instrument panel, steering wheel, etc once the dash was just loosened and then dash would come out towards the rear. I AM NOT TAKING THIS CAGE BACK OFF!

Okay, on a Unit with ride command and the instrument cluster in the way, I have succeeded! There are two 10mm bolts that hold your speedo/instrument cluster and also 2 10mm that hold the ride command unit bracket in. After removing the speedo and just slightly dropping the ride command screen my hood slid right back in and my bottom cage bar is very low. Hope this helps at least one guy from some cussing.

Bodis22 that is the same thing I have done several times to get my dash panel off. I finally got tired of having to take the front dash almost all the way off to get the top off. My solution to the problem is I took everything I had mounted under the dash panel and moved it to the drivers side underneath by the fuse panel. Now the only thing under the dash is my SSV works AMP. Everything else I can get to from inside the car. I am getting ready to do a makeover on my Rzr and will take pictures and document everything. I am removing the XTC 6 switch power management set up and going to a touch panel (like the switch pro's) setup. I don't have enough switch positions for all my stuff anymore.

Removing the cage was my thoughts as well to access the dash. My cage was built with removable intrusion and lower cross bar. I just unbolt windshield and take off 4 more bolts holding on cross and intrusion bar. Easy peasy

Is yours a custom cage or the stock cage with and added removable intrusion and cross bar?

I'm about to go full special needs on this dash. I already have it cut in 1/2, I can't seem to get it reinstalled, so I'm going to cut the middle out and reattach it with aluminum.

Wish me luck, I probably won't get to it till this weekend though.

Simple solution would have been to use bungs when they installed the intrusion bar. That is an after thought though because mine doesn't have bungs either so I have to fight taking the cage on and off which is a pain in the butt to say the least but I'm still thinking on the cut dash option . I'm just worried water would get to the wiring to easily but I could be wrong.
