Hello RZRFORUMS.NET does anyone know how to remove the dashboard from the RZR.

I have been looking around and it seems as if it is in 2 pieces, the upper black part is one piece and the dash is separate.

Thank you in advance

Yes the upper black plastic piece is separate from the dash.

Hope these pics help. The upper black plastic piece is removed and the dash is still attached.

Any luck removing the dash with an aftermarket cage installed. If I have to pull the cage, I’m not going to be happy :|

I hope you are able to slide it out towards the rear of the car, if not you may have to move the cage up. I am going to have a cage made for mine, hoping to have that bar placed just high enough to life the dash up and out.
Let us know how it goes.

I had to lift my cage to get the dash off. Major PIA!
The lower cross bar on my aftermarket cage is close to the dash and doesn't give enough room to slide the dash out.
I have a 4 seat and it takes a significant amount of time and effort to loosen it and raise it a couple inches.

Well I tried everything to force the dash off, broke a snap clip from somewhere and it fell out onto the floor.

I have an idea to cut the dash in 1/2 and try to slide each 1/2 out towards the interior of the rzr.

It’s already broken so might as well try lol.

Otherwise I’ll have to pull the cage twice within 6 months when I add radios Etc.

It was a lot of work getting the interior pulled. I just helped a buddy install an SDR cage in his 4 seater and I don’t want to do it again.

Well that sucks. Frankly, I am too OCD to handle having a dash cut in half LOL. I think I'd order the replacement piece and just hold off until you have all the stuff you plan to do under there and do it once. I have an appt. with my Fab guy next Wed to go over the cage. I am thinkin' we are gonna need to come up with a way for that bar to be removable or something.

I think I have an idea how to make it look good, well maybe ok lol. I’m pretty OCD with wiring and I’m constantly working and modifying under the dash. I pulled the dash gauge cluster on my XP 1000 probably 15 times, so I can’t imagine having to pull the cage that many times.

I’ll be cutting tomorrow morning, and crying and ordering a new dash by noon ?

LoL. I find it very humorous that you are OCD with your wiring but you are ok with cutting your dash plastic in half.

I would cut the dash bar out of my cage, move it up and re-weld it to allow the dash plastic to be removed before I would cut the dash. Just my $0.02

So I was a an off road event and I was talking to the guy from XTC. XTC is the company that makes all kinds of switch kits and stuff. We got to talking about taking off the dash and he told me the easiest way was to cut it in half just behind the bar across the front. He then used Dzus fasteners with tabs and alternated them. It was nice looking and worked great.

I was thinking of going that rout but instead I just moved everything under the dash so I have access without taking the dash off. The only thing under the dash is my SSV works amp and the Switch box for the XTC switch kit.

That’s pretty much my plan, but to use rivnuts and a strip of 1/8”x2” aluminum to tie them in together.

I’m heading to the hardware store now. I’ll post pics of the destruction lol.

I got the Dash cut and removed. What a PITA! Even cut in 1/2 it was difficult to remove. I may trim this one a ton to see if it makes it easier, if not, I'll just pull the cage and remove replace it.

I made the center plate out of 1/8"x2" Aluminum. I put a slight bend in it to match the dash, drilled the holes, lined it up and then marked them in the plastic. I'll paint the aluminum with spray can Duplicolor bed liner. Looks identical to factory plastic.

Then slid the piece to the side to use it as a guide to cut the panel. I used a new blade and it cut through pretty easily.

Then forced the panels out towards the front of the RZR.

Before I cut the dash I made a templete of the entire center section in case I decide to make a new piece out of aluminum.

Watching closely. Nice work so far. Went out and eyeballed my cherry picker wondering if I can fab up a fixture to slide under the roof bars of the cage to pick it up when I need to get under the hood. I think it can be done, just slide it into the boom.
I dunno.

Okay, on a Unit with ride command and the instrument cluster in the way, I have succeeded! There are two 10mm bolts that hold your speedo/instrument cluster and also 2 10mm that hold the ride command unit bracket in. After removing the speedo and just slightly dropping the ride command screen my hood slid right back in and my bottom cage bar is very low. Hope this helps at least one guy from some cussing.

Bodis22 that is the same thing I have done several times to get my dash panel off. I finally got tired of having to take the front dash almost all the way off to get the top off. My solution to the problem is I took everything I had mounted under the dash panel and moved it to the drivers side underneath by the fuse panel. Now the only thing under the dash is my SSV works AMP. Everything else I can get to from inside the car. I am getting ready to do a makeover on my Rzr and will take pictures and document everything. I am removing the XTC 6 switch power management set up and going to a touch panel (like the switch pro's) setup. I don't have enough switch positions for all my stuff anymore.

I'm about to go full special needs on this dash. I already have it cut in 1/2, I can't seem to get it reinstalled, so I'm going to cut the middle out and reattach it with aluminum.

Wish me luck, I probably won't get to it till this weekend though.

Simple solution would have been to use bungs when they installed the intrusion bar. That is an after thought though because mine doesn't have bungs either so I have to fight taking the cage on and off which is a pain in the butt to say the least but I'm still thinking on the cut dash option . I'm just worried water would get to the wiring to easily but I could be wrong.
