Just thinking out loud here so please don't tear me a new one...

For the sand crowd is there a way to convert these things into a true 2WD car? I could see a lot of weight and rotating mass coming off of these things if you could simply remove the front diff, driveshaft, axles, etc. Is it that easy, or is there a lot more involved to do something like this?

new invention: Axle Locking Bearing Sleeve(ALBS). You'd cut one of the rear axles and fit the ALBS between. Locked, the axle functions as normal. Unlocked only the side of the axle connected to the differential is locked, The side connected to the wheel spins freely.... Lock and unlock when you want.

i run my RS1 in 2wd only in Glamis, dont like the feedback 4wd has. I like to drift and slide the car around. Now in my Canam X3 it was 4wd only, 2wd was too loose. Last weekend i pulled my RS1 front diff, axles and drivelines out and weighed them. Total of 78.56lbs i lost, then i added some outer cv stubs which is a couple pounds. Im excited to see how it dunes next month. My only concern is not enough weight up front and the car pushing in the turns.
