Absolutely! Don't buy an EPI kit they're junk and non adjustable . I have 29.5 Swamplites and the kit said good from 28-30 inch tire and I lost 400 RPM's Compared to stock clutching. Should
Of bought a dalton kit in the first place.

I have 30" ITP Mudlite XXL's on mine. I run a Dirty Dawg kit on mine, sure makes a big difference and Dale's customer service is awesome.

As mentioned already, the Dalton can't be beat. We order from Dalton once to twice a week from Dalton and mostly the XP kits.

Very easy to use, performance is great.

You would need the kit with the optional big tire spring. Clink link below to go right to it on our site. Tech article there and install videos. Plus you can call me for any help.

Before you put your kit in, I would get three pieces of information, top speed now, top speed RPM now and shift speed RPM.

Hey guys new to clutch work so here is my question. I have a 2013 xp4 Walker Evans edition stock. I ordered 28" Bighorns but sent them back since they only measured 26" (same size as my 26" Bighorns) when i got them, and they are sending my 30" Bighorns instead. Do i need a clutch kit? Mainly trail riding with these minor rock crawling along the trail. Also if i put a kit in how will this affect performance when i put my 26" STU blasters back on fir the sand?

I'm curious of this too. I run 27'' bighorns and I am planing to get a set of 30-8-12 interforce tractor treads to run here around the house. I'm afraid if I clutch it for big tires it will not work well for my 27's. Would I be better off leaving the clutch stock or not?

You would be better off clutching for the large and then seeing what the smaller does. Never clutch for the smaller then go big, too much load, loss of power and burn belts,

No better kit to do this with than the Dalton we sell.

Give me a call tomorrow to discuss it

Hey all, I could use some clutch advice myself. I just picked up a '11 XP and it has Alba's clutching to go with their 995 BB that is in it. The previous owner dialed it in for the 26" STU sand paddles and duning. I also picked up a set of 30" Big Horns for running tough trails. On top of that I have the stock wheels/tires too.

I will still dune the car a lot. It is my back up car to my sand rail, as well as something for my girl to drive (not exactly going to set her loose in a SCU with over 600HP to the tire out of a 13:1 454 LS7).

However, I intend to go run the Rubicon and other tough crawling trips this year too. Also, I have a family cabin out in Idaho that has a lot of fast fireroad running available. So I'll certainly be switching between the sand and 30" setups, maybe even running the stockers when the 30"s aren't necessary.

Am I dreaming that I'll be able to easily switch between clutch settings for the sand/30"s? Is it even worth the effort to dial in the stock ~26" setup too, or should I just run the 30"s anytime I'm not on the sand?

You own`t over rev, but you could be on the rev limiter quick.

How bout clutching it for 28's? I run 27's for normal riding and I run 30-8-12 tractor treads around the house. I ain't tried them yet but y'all think it would be ok with stock clutching? I won't be running the big ones very much.

Clutch it for the wheels and tires you`ll be running the majority of the time. That`s the best advice I can give ya.

A clutch kit is never a bad idea on these things, they are tuned poorly from the factory. Run it stock for awhile, then invest in a good adjustable kit and you will amazed at how much better it runs and how much longer your belt will last.

In my experience with snowmobiling and engine work I've always felt that if I hit the rev limiter I am over revving. I have reached and am heading down the HP curve on a dyno chart. With larger tires I think you would either need a primary clutch with less weight and the same spring or a spring with higher finish rate and the same amount of weight. This makes it easier on the clutch to stay spinning and not hit a wall and under rev. With smaller tires I think you would need to add weight with the same spring or a spring with a lower finish rate with the same amount of weight.

This is also when you are running your clutches all the way out too. It will vary depending on riding conditions and how you drive. On snowmobiles you are revving out often so it is important not to over rev. In a Rzr that may not matter as much if you don't get up to speed.

I am planning on running tires that are more than 2" apart so I am going to get a set up for each set and see how far out they are weight wise. Maybe make a kit that will be a middle ground for each.

The thing that is different with Rzr's vs snowmachines is that I can not find a advertised weight of the springs. I am not even sure what the stock spring is. Any idea?

Yeah, I mean I knew it'd add more stress on the belt turning the bigger tires. However, I'm new to CVTs so I don't really know what "shift speed" and "shifting out" are all about. I need to do some research, this is my first journey into the CVT world.

I have a 2012 XP4 and am going to go with a set of 14"x7" Beadlocks with 28x10x14 Mongrels. Some say you need clutch work, others say you don't, whats the deal here? I know a friend of mine has 14"x7" Beadlocks and 28x10x14 ITP Bajacross tires and didn't do a thing to his clutch and it runs awesome…. Just curious b4 I pull the trigger on this new set of tire and wheels. Thx

It'll run great without the clutch kit, but it's definitely worth it. Just got my DDP kit installed this weekend for my bigger wheels (28" Roctanes on 14" wheels), the difference is incredible. It performs better than stock clutch and stock 26" wheels..
