(Quote)well considering the 42" is bar is $1600 +/- and its supposed to be the equivilent of 4 6½" hids at $400 a pop... its the same money any way you look at it.so for all those thinking 1 light for 1600 is sooo freaking expensive, imagine buying 4 to 6 - 6½" hids from vision x at $400 a peice... (Quote)

What kind of single hid's cost $400 a piece?? I cant imagine. my 7inch were $90 each or $270 for 3 of them. are there seriously hid's for $400 each?? :shifty:? I make good money but like to hang on to it . I am always shopping around for the best deal, I guess thats why I have some money. but during all my shopping around for hid's I never saw them as high as $400 each. not calling bs, just cant imagine.. I did see an led light bar about the size of the one mentioned on a rhino at dumont last year and it was impressive. it didnt seem to throw light quite as far as hid's but it did seem brighter up close with a wider coverage area. dont those big led bars use Hella power though? will the rzr charging system be able to keep up?

theyre are plenty of hids in the 300 to 500 range.

what warranty is on your 90$ hids? whats the housing made out of? internal ballast? internal starter? its all name brand over non name brand stuff.

when youre buying a VISION X LED BAR you cannot in any way compare it to a CHECKER 7" HID...

sorry, but its like comparing a pinto to a s class. they are in two completely different catagories.

not saying 1 works any better than the other, but as far as customer service, warranty, housing, if you were to infact roll it over, front glass crush testing and speed.

what is a rock going 300mph hits the front of your hid will it withstand the impact or will it shatter?!

the big dogs in the HID industry know these things, thats why you pay for it.

aluminum or steel housings over plastic or other material molded housings.

baja designs (sol tek), vision x, eagle eye, trail tech, etc. are some of the bigger names in offroad lighting.

UTV CRAP,

I will go one better. Go to auto Zone and by their 6" KC style lights at 2 for 19 for a total of 38, then go to eBay and buy 2 HID conversion kits at 59 ea for a total of 118. So now you are at 156 for 4-6" HID lights.

Most Co's on eBay will warranty if anything fails. IF NOT YOU STILL HAVE MORE THAN 1400 TO SPEND FIXING THEM YOURSELF!!!!!

You started as a deep discounter in PHX but you are starting to be just like every other shop in town.

Sorry just my opinion.

I know you will bag on the quality but I know a couple people running this setup and no problems!

The four lights are great it is like daylight out there when they are on.

we sell items for MSRP or under, and 80% of the time its WWAAYY under.

that is a good point on the HID conversions, like i said above.. and i quote

"not saying 1 works any better than the other"

we sell the 100$ checker HIDs just like eveyrone else, as well as offer the 400$ sol teks and the 300$ vision x and the 450$ vision x HIDs as well. We also sell the 150$ trail techs.

We sell everything.

We have always been and always been a discounter, every shop in town from what I know of sells items at MSRP or a little under.

Unless youre shopping at some of the other shops, I wont name, that price gouge you, I dont know who you are refeering to as these other shops where I am like all of them with my prices.

And I never said the quality would be junk, and I will never bag on anything unless I see it as complete useless, worthless junk.

I have friends who bought the hella's and bought the HID conversions online, they run them, they work, theyre happy. I never said they were dumb or anything?!

and i dont know if i understand your equation above..

you state..

2 for 19.. 2 hid kits at 59 ea... so 156 for 4 hids?

2 x 19 = 38 correct.
2 hid kits for 4 lights?! = 118 ?! if theyre 59 ea youd need 4 correct? 236 is what i get.

$274 is still a freaking sweet deal dont get me wrong.

like i said above its just a name brand thing as well...

Mr. Stupid,
You would most certainly crap your pants if you saw my RZR budget.
point being My budget is what my income allows, I live within my means.
Don't hate people because they got the buck$$$$$$$$$$$$$
http://

That is a nice setup, what do you do for a living? Maybe I need to change professions

I did start off with 3 kragen hid lights and they work great along with hid conversions for the headlights. Hids for 100 is a great deal, if kragen did not sell them that cheap, people would be paying between 300 to 500 for hid lights.

Just like utv crap said, there are a lot of black spots not covered by the hid lights well the led light bar lights everything up and there are no dark spots. I know the hids light up to far distances but I’ll see how the led bar work in the dunes. I will definitely let everyone know how they worked.

There are always alternatives to everything. And just like giff-turbo said, the more money you make, the higher your personal budget is. For example: to a multimillionaire, spending thousand of dollars at the casino would be the equivalent to spending couple of bucks.

is it stupid to buy long travel for 5gs, is it stupid to buy a winch, or is it just stupid to upgrade your rzr?

anyways, what makes you the boss to say what limits are set on spending? there is a old saying, "if you don't have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all"

to the other guys, thanks for the compliments.

i was thinking about building a tubular guard above tha light and maybe remounting it. right now the light is just mount from the sides. i'll take pics of how i mounted it and how it works out in the dunes.
Stupid is as stupid does.

hey guys, came back from gordon's wells and man, the leds are awesome. sorry no pics, kept forgetting the camera on the night rides.

a friend and i did a comparision to 4 kragen 7" hid lights to my led bar, and boy do the leds beat them hands down. the hids had a better focus point which can provide light at a further distance, but that distance isn't really a factor unless you driving the baja or something like that.
