Cant find this in the owners manual - how dies it work. Looks like I have to run hot and ground wires form the battery - how does the access terminal work.

Does it turn on the ground with the key

Thanks

The Ground and Accessories are already wired and ready. You need to run a large gauge wire from your Battery to the BATT post yourself.

Use the Accessory post to power switches connected to Relays, then the BATT post to power on the relay and provide power to what ever needs the power.

Don't run accessories right from the accessory post. You can, but I wouldn't recommend it. I have heard several reports of the ignition switches going out when this is done. You don't want to run too many amps through the ignition unless you have to.

The ground hasn't been wired on any of the 1000's I've personally worked on. I've had to wire both that and the 12v directly to the battery.

If you are wiring this, make sure to use the correct size wire. Figure out your total amp draw, and the length of the wire, and use a handy chart like this:

I also wouldn't suggest wiring an amplifier or a winch to it. Those are best wired direct to the battery.

As to the accessory wire, I've seen people pop the fuse for it by overloading it. Best to use it for minimal things like switch LED power and relay activation.

My gound wasnt wired; only the accessory post.

Looked on the harness and nothing was there flopping loose, so just ran a short 10g wire to the frame about 8" away for the ground.

Agree, acc post should only be for triggering relays or small led accent lights or other small draws. Its so easy to disassemble and run wiring in the new models and prewired harnesses are cheap off of amazon/ebay: you almost have no excuse to not do it right. :)

I obviously should of read this beforehand. I wired two led light bars to the ACC terminal. They both came on for about 2 seconds and went out. Now I don't have power to the ACC terminal. I've checked the fuses and all are good. The machine with start and run but the little accent light above the cup holders won't work because it's wired to the ACC terminal. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Ahhh... This is exactly the info I was looking for. :)
I was wondering what that orange wire connect to... well... Nothing ... was for. It's awesome that Polaris provides a switched power source so we don't have to go find and tap one ourselves. That said, that Bus Bar was put there primarily for their Accessory harnesses, but it's a bit of a joke IMHO. I'll be removing it and tossing it in the trash.

One thing I haven't heard (well read) much about on this forum is the need for fusing your accessories. Again, IMHO, all accessories should be individually fused and if you want them switched with the ignition it should be through a relay. Not only does this protect your equipment but also when you do have a problem, it is a lot easier to isolate.

I'll be installing an Relay controlled Accessory fuse box using that "Acc" wire as the relay trigger. I'll post up details when I do.

Pete, I assume you ran a ground wire as well? Have a closer look at the fuse. Sometimes a break in small amperage fuses are hard to distinguish.
