I am running the BD kit. So far so good. I have about 500 miles on it with no issues. Quality was very good on it, it bolted right in like it was suppose to. I don't have anything to compare it to but at 10lbs boost it is suppose to double the hp. I am running 8-9 lbs and it seriously rips, I ran at 10lbs for a bit but I don't ride dunes so I dropped it back down to save on the endless spinning of my tires.LOL Don't hesitate to shoot me a pm with any questions.:pint:

It is installed on our '09 RZR S Widowmaker we had at SEMA and we love it for a few reasons:

1- Complete under the bed configuration, intercooler and everything so we didn't lose any precious cargo space.

2- Easy to install, we never installed anyone elses so perhaps they are as simple.

3- They are releasing a Automatic Boost Control which should be a great add-on to all of the existing turbos they have built. It will compensate for altitude, barometric pressure, and a few other things.

4- They have incredible snowmobile turbos and I have ran them on the Apex and the M-800 and incredible what they have done in that market.

5- Fuel Control Box is a easy to operate system.

6- Customer Service is as easy as a phone call away.

7- Extremely quiet, so nobody hears that you doubled your power and they don't see any mods when glancing at the unit so it does great on the surprise factor.

I haven't seen boondocker's intercooler, but the intercooler on the MCX is very durable. The fins aren't as flimsy as a radiator and don't bend at all. I wouldn't be surprised if Boondocker's intercooler was very stout too.

Having it under the bed would make it get plugged with mud easier though I would think.
There are pros and cons to every location. Not a lot of room on these machines to choose from.

I talked to Kyle at boondocker today to see if they had any thoughts about building an air to water intercooler under the bed. they where very knowlegable about there kit and sait he would pass the ? s on and try to get back with me ASAP it is snow season so i am sure they are busy busy

Cheers

I built a stainless rock guard for my intercooler, after driving it there is no dents and very few scuffs on it from debris, I don't see the intercooler being at risk where it is. I have done tons of aluminum fabrication and there intercooler is built well and looks like it will be pretty tough.:pint:

We ride in strictly mud, muskeg, ect. I could be wrong but I think I would have that fan plugged solid in about 20 min. Many of times under the box in our RZR's are completely packed. I have my unit snorkeled c/w the CVT. Also run the Dragon Fire intake canister. I would like to see a turbo set up where I could still utilize these parts.

The MCX intercooler is efficient but I think blocks the view of a rear view mirror & is plumbed in the same spot as my snorkels. I would like to see a intercooler than is wider but not quite as high. This could allow for the wider plumbing and possibly being able to utilize the rear view mirror. I love my Dragon Fire waterless air canister. Would like to be able to fit into it. Just dont know if theres enough room under the bed.

I think the only way mud would affect it is if the intercooler was completely submerged.

when I talked to Dave and Kyle today they both stated that the gains where about double the stock on pump gas and that they recomended the thicker head gasket to drop the C/r down to 9.0/1 on the S or 10.0/1 on the standard and still be fine with 5-7lbs of boost

$3800 for the kit, $400 for the adjustable clutch $100 for the head spacer gasket and you need a wide band another $200 to help u tune but thats still a good deal. Its all under the bed even the air cleaner thats piped into the area btwn the steats where it pulls air from and the use a stock polaris air cleaner. The exhaust even bolts to the side of a stock polaris pipe total sleeper....

Your are correct this does not include the clutch or head shim, but the fact that it is setup to run the factory pipe is very cool for some of the places we ride and some of the people we ride with. I know Boondocker has made a name for them selves in the Sled world I dont know why it would be any diffrent for the UTV world. with that being said I am looking for the best all around kit with quality / support / fit and fuction.

Price for the setup is:
$3800 for complete turbo setup
$100 for head shim - probably they should just include that in the price eventually.
$$$$ - Wide Band gauges can be bought from other sources for a pretty good price, Zeitronix has some amazing ones that match our Dakota Digital better.
$$$$ - Clutching, I highly recommend you use one built by a clutch company...we used Dale and Dirty Dawg and we couldn't be happier.

So give Boondockers the $3900 and get the other products from better sources is what I would do as a consumer.

Hey everyone let me see if i can clear up a couple of things, first we use an actual head gasket, not a shim, it goes directly in place of the stock head gasket. There are two different sizes to choose from. We have an online store the link is in my sig line.
This will help with the pricing, the clutching that we use is the Dirty Dawg, we do not sell the turbo kit with optional guages so that the customer can customize their kit to fit their needs. If you have any other questions let me know thanks Diann.

Hey there, I have a boondocker efi control box on my fusion 900 and I need some help. I know this is a RZR forum but I figured some of you may be able to answer my questions. If not, thanks a lot. If so, please read on.

I bought a 2006 polaris fusion 900 that has been modified by a company called "Hot To Go (HTG) Motorsports" in New York State. The Polaris has a Boondocker Polaris EFI control box (the link below is for the box I have). I bought the sled in Ontario, Canada and brought it to Newfoundland, Canada. I mostly trail ride but love speed and quite often ride in the 100km per hour range and above so I ride hard/aggressive. The conditions including elevation and air temp is different here in NL than in Ontario and now to my point. First off - the boondocker - I know very little about it including how to use it. I read the manual but I do not understand anything about the fuel consumption, too lean too rich, mapping, all of that fun technical stuff (I just love to ride - not understand what I am riding) that comes with the Boondocker. I rode it yesterday for the first time. Idle right now is showing a temp of 170 farenheit (been told this is very high). When I get to around 50 mph temp is up over 190 and the temp light is flashing. If I slack the throttle back to 40mph or go to about 60mph, then the light stops. However, at about 65mph and up, the temp is high and the light flashes continually until I let the throttle go and slow down.

I am wondering if this high temperature could have anything to do with the setting on the boondocker and if so, can you, in laymens terms, explain the box and how to use. such as, can I change the settings as often as I like ( every few minutes/hours depending on my riding), MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION - Can I unhook the boondocker and not use it anymore and if so, could I cause serious damage? what would be the best setting for my kind of riding? Do I need to adjust the boondocker settings from a leisurly ride with my 5 year old where speeds don't go past 25 mph to my regular riding where speeds don't often go below 100km per hour? Etc...

Any advice you can give me would be more than appreciated and again, can I unhook this computer and not use it at all or does it have to stay on the sled because of the engine modifications that have been done to it - HTG Kit boosting cc's to 975 and horses to ????

Thank you very much and I hope I hear back from someone soon. Cory

Okay let me see if i can help, if the sled has been heavily modified yes you need the box or you could burn down. We usually recommend that you speak with the aftermarket company that did the modifications, they have their own settings in the box. Have you contacted them, to see what they recommend? You could also give us a call 1-208-542-4411 any tech will be able to help you understand the box. Thanks Diann
