I'm wondering if anyone has tried to download the Bob T outlaw maps into the ride command. i wasn't sure if it was compatible. I know they are made for the Garmin but it would be awesome if there is a way they will download into the ride command GPS.
Any info on this is appreciated on this.

Thank you sir. What is the best GPS to buy for the maps then. Just need to know because I'm definitely getting one for them. Only been 148 miles and want to explore the other 800+

Figured I would throw it out there that I considered the tablet route, but in the end went for the Garmin Zumo 395 so I didn't have to worry about it getting wet or muddy. Best part about it was that it came with all the hardware to wire it straight into the electrical system.

Now I just need to figure out where I can get the outlaw maps and I will be good to go.

Jw if you could put them into like a 7 inch display garmin gps built for a car. Was thinking of taking out my lower cell phone box aND replacing it with a 7" display. But not sure if your trails are compatible with something like that

I had a nuvi at one time (along with handheld garmins) and my 7" Samsung tab with orux and bobT maps just works better. I have mine mounted down below on the face of the storage box. It's the most protected place from water and mud and isn't right in my face (like if I mounted it up top on the roll cage)

Bump. Anyone figured out yet how to get BobT's maps on the Ride Command? Mostly looking to add the Outlaw trail maps.

We carry a tablet with the maps but would be nice to have them also in the build in unit as well.

Thanks!

Yes and No, I use the VVmapping maps for wisconsin in Garmin Basecamp and I can plan rides and download them to the ride command. VVmapping "should" be able to save them as a gpx file but for some reason they don't work with the Ride Command. I use the gps visualizer and convert them to gpx (from gpx) and for some reason they will download fine.
I wish I could just download all the trails to the Ride command but I could only do this if I marked every trail as a ride and then downloaded them and that would sort of muddy up the works and "track a ride" would not work because I'm already following a ride. Hope that made sense.
Actually it has really worked out well we plan rides during the week and plan them out and then download them. A few times we have went "of ride" and it is for such a short period it just adds a little flavor to the ride.
I have a buddy that tracks all of his rides on Garmin basecamp and we can trade planned rides and rides back and forth this way.
It is a hassle and took me a while to figure out but its workable for now.

I have been looking at adding a Ride Command GPS but if you are limited on what maps you can add I might have to look at something else.

I have been doing some research on the Ride Command but can't find much detailed information about the GPS function. Does anyone know if there is an online manual for the GPS portion of it anywhere?

What GPS file format does it read? .GPX? .GPD? something else? How about .kmz files?

Is there anyway to add the more detailed 1:24,000 maps or High-resolution satellite imagery?

I have been using the Android app and it's cool to track other people and everything but it was only showing the main roads and no trails. It's like we were riding in space.

As far as I know it's only gpx files and thats fine with me for what I need. No satellite pictures or detailed high resolution imagery but like I said for what I need it does fine. If you just want to look at it you can use the gps conversions to upload to different things like google earth to see it on there.

Anybody ever find the actual gpx file on a phone/tablet? Or is is not a gpx?

I have some rides of Royal Blue on my Galaxy Tab but no way to upload them to the Polaris website .

EDIT: Ok my rides will not load to their site because my tablet is wifi only.
I did find a workaround. I copied all the files from my tablet to my phone.

Worked.

I was able to find Bobs gpx file for the north Cumberland trails and get them on to the ride command. The only issue is that it doesn't separate out the trails and makes them all green with no trail numbers. It worked for this weekend but need to keep messing with it to see if I can get it to show trails individually instead of all of them as just one trail.
