I just got my RZR rebuilt for dust issues for the 2nd time. We went riding las night and it started missing and sputtering after going through some water and mud but nothing real deep. It would clear up for a while and then start missing again and would get over 2000-2500 rpms. I got a check engine light and it was showing 21 and 25 on the blink codes. 21 is loss of synchronization but I dont have any idea how to fix it or what it means. Could someone please help me with this issue.

21 is synchronization not crank and 25 is trans input shaft. Search out my other post on here called "diagnostic codes" and you will see the whole list of all the codes. Good Luck. KC.

I have the list but thanks anyway. I was wondering how to daignose the out of synch code. I guess it may not really matter though because I cleaned it up today and now it isnt doing it so maybe a little mud got on a connection somewhere would be my best guess but I am not sure.

Just disconnect the battery to clear the codes. The code 21 doesnt have to be diagnosed, all it means it that the trans was in the wrong gear at the wrong time, like if you shut it off in drive or something. I dont understand why Polaris put that one in there. The only fix for it if you keep getting it, is to adjust your shifter linkage to ensure that the trans is exactly in the right gear in accordance with the gear shift. Good Luck. KC.

Just disconnect battery for about 30 seconds then reconnect and code will be cleared, after that try to make sure that you always have it in park before starting and also ensure that it really is in the right gear at all times, Always put in park before turning off also. If that dont work then try adjusting the shift linkage to ensure that it is in the right gear that you put it in. KC.

have you had any more code 21's lately? I am getting sputtering and missing until it warms up. then the check engine indicator goes out and it runs fine for the rest of the day. it seemed to start in general after i got back from a very muddy, clay run and had to pressure wash a while to clean. sounds like the other guy couldn't stop talking about code 25 of which I do not care about.
