So I only got 191 miles and 13.4 hrs out of the factory belt. The second belt lasted to 216 miles and 15.0 hrs.

The three other rzr 1000 4 seats blew at 50 mile increments the longest other belt was at 161 miles and the shortest factory belt was 49 miles.

So total in camp we broke 7 total belts this weekend and I haven't even made the first payment.

Welcome to the club . Polaris will say it's normal or ( your just not driving them in the right gear) we need to get together and call polaris bluff. I had to leave my piece of shit xp41000 home this week because of the belt issue 3 belts 82miles and the belts are rubbing on the clutch casses. I'm mobbing around on my xp900 pissed as hell that I have a 22k machine that ain't worth a damn . I'll be getting a lawyer here shortly if this does not get resolved. Let's all get together and make them fix the issue!!

my belt slips like crazy anytime i floor it in high range. It's not super noticable because it still pulls pretty hard but I can definitely tell its slipping. I've asked some venders and builders about the issue and they've told me they haven't heard of any issues. I changed my oem belt to a carbon g12 and its the same thing.

I was at Pismo for its first ride. I did 3 warm up / cool downs. Picking the pace up a little each time. Riding in all wheel drive with the throttle in it you could smell the belt. Riding in 2 wheel, no problem. Riding in all wheel was putting a lot of torque on that belt.

You could sure tell a difference between all wheel and 2 wheel in the sand. This was with stock tires.

What speed are you guys running when the belt is slipping? Does it seem like there are some machines with clutching problems and others without? I have 150mi so far and have done some hi speed awd runs in sand washes and haven't noticed any slipping. I am very conscious of the belt and am sure to shift to low whenever the speed drops below 25mph. I am usually out with the family in pretty remote areas, I do carry a spare belt but all this talk has me worried. I wonder how many people haven't broken a belt. Is it 50% or 75%? Anyway, hopefully someone comes up with a fix to increase the reliability some.

Yea this concerns me. I finally passed my two tank of gas break in and actually used the throttle to get up to speed for the first time. not even full throttle, and not even top speed, and only for a couple seconds. I could smell the belt pretty bad, and it did feel like it was slipping. Polaris has to address this issue. I have no confidence in this 22,000 dollar plus machine. My pop was very reliable, 1800 miles on one belt, only changed it because of miles, never slipped.

Broke the factory belt after 30 miles at Glamis with stock tires. My buddy made it about 50 miles on the factory belt with stock tires.

We both installed Gates carbon belts and did not break again. I went about 175 miles and he probably went close top that without braking another belt.

However, there is a serious problem with heat. After a belt breaks, it is incredibly hot on both clutch pulleys and the case. We were melting leather gloves when changing our belts.

Yea, It happens on the 900xp4 as well. I got 275 total miles on my 2013 and I have gone thru 3 belts already!! And no--- not all the miles are at glamis! I'm pretty tired of people telling me that I'm driving in the wrong gear, beating on the car, and all the other excuses. It's my opinion that a $22000 dollar car should not have this problem. This week-end, all the vendors at Glamis ran out of belts, had to have another delivery emergency shipment. Sat. the only one that had belts was Glamis Fab. $240. each. And he was running out fast. I got stranded in the dunes twice. Had to borrow a belt to replace the one I broke. I can smell the belt, and hear it slipping. I'm told it's because I have modifications. B.S.. Look at the 3000 class in off road! THEY ARE BELT DRIVE. No big issues. Polaris needs to step up to the plate, fix the problem, and stop making excuses. I,m looking into a different car due to the reliability issue. $500 dollars a weekend is a bitch just for belts, not to mention the safety factor. Split a belt on a off camber dune, and you are wheels up!!:rm_thumbdown::sad::bsflag:

We did a total of 110 miles in Johnson Valley this weekend. A mix of trail riding, rock crawling and some duning. No belt problems, no smell of belt or any issues. Have a total of 167 miles on it now. I still have not given it full throttle yet as it only has 13 hours on it so far. The most throttle given was probally about 3/4 and gradually applied, not stomping on it. I pulled the belt cover off twice to check and no signs of any belt problems. It will be interesting when full throttle is applied to see if excessive heat builds up. Very anal about making sure it is in low gear when just putting around, rock crawling or anything that needs low gear.

I took delivery last week on my xp4. I grabbed a spare belt after hearing about peeps having some issues. I didn't want to get stranded or not be able to get my hands on one if needed (thought of it as an insurance plan), maybe I should have put the $200 bucks towards a fire extinguisher. Is Polaris gonna back these units under warranty (manufacturer defect)?

The million dollar question is what is too hot? Is it going to be sustained temparture of x degrees or a combination of multiple times reaching x degrees? I just do not think that we should be having to do this. I would think that countless hours of R&D go into these and I am sure during that research they got the belt hot.

I put 200 miles on mine in the dunes this weekend, its got 300 miles total now. I ran it hard all weekend with stock tires and had no belt or clutch problems. I took the clutch cover off b4 I left the house!! spent enough on the rzr and getting to the dunes, I didn't feel like buying belts all weekend. Untill they figure this out I'm running it with no cover.

Xp 1000 4 seater at the dunes this weekend and we were blowing belts every 2 hours? One belt we decided to go easy and do a 8 hour brake in and it broke after 6 hours?
4 belts and decided to come home a day early.
Seemed like a heat problem because never broke on a big hill or under most load, seemed to brake after stoping for several minutes and then after taking off 5 min later bam,
We even took cover off during rides to inspect and belt was all in tact,
Blowing up instantly
Please help because dealers are saying it's the way I drive and not being helpful

I had 2 brand new XP4 1ks in our group in Glamis and they both broke 3 belts. Basically 1 a day. Both had stock tires. 1 of them ended up having bigger issues and wouldn't run right.

I had 2 other friends that were there that are on the waiting list for xp4 1k at the local dealer. After watching all the problems they will be now be picking up the 2 seater.
