It makes getting to the engine easy. You also dont have to cofigure things to fit under the bed.Plus it also lets out heat better.I like my bed so I cut it out then bolted the cut out piece back in.I can pull out the 4 bolts and remove a panel.
My thinking of deleteing the bed was to make it easier to perform maintenance on it. Currently I have to remove my cage and intake to remove the bed. I'm more into the offroad racing look. The way my cage is built I wouldn't have to modify nothing to still hold my toolbag and icechest. I would however have to make some bed panel supports. I don't do the mud. So there is no concern there...
Unless your hardcore into racing I think it's probably the worst thing you could think of doing. JMHO. Not trying to be rude but my god there is very limited space as it is in and on the rzr so why take it away? It would look pretty silly with the passengers legs up over the hood so that the gas and other supplies can sit on the floor.
Don't get me wrong... If your into racing I see why this would be very beneficial but if your not a racer then you can forget about those camping trips into the woods with a tent and supplies.
Like I say it's JMHO
I cut the center and replaced with aluminum lid, which on the front is hold by two original bolts and on the rear by Polaris cam lock.
I really like it, it is easy to work on engine without taking bed out.

Mine is kinda like Milos accept I just bolted the piece that I cut back in.I was riding with someone who had the bed dealeted and he said he hated how much more noise he could hear.He said he would not do it again.
I must say my previous post stated how I disagreed to the notion of removing the bed but after seeing how a plate can be made over the engine I see how you can have the best of both worlds. Good idea!
I took the bed off mine to install a lift kit and do some maintainance.
I took it for a ride to try different shock adjustments and it is LOUD without the bed.
Too loud for me!
The hatch looks like a good idea.
I'm working with one of the forum sponsors right now to develope a true "bolt on" bed delete kit for the RZR, RZR S and RZR 4... I am hoping to have the prototype in my hands for testing in next few weeks!!! For those who are interested, stay tuned for more information, pictures and pricing!!!
If you are interested and would like your name added to the list, send me a PM or email and you will be contacted directly by them when it's ready to ship...
Yeah and it turned out awesome... I did an optional firewall for mine, unfortunately I don't think I ever took any pictures of it installed; because I never got past that point in putting it all back together.
Racer Tech was the company Bronson was working with for the bed delete kit. He and I both got completely side tracked after we were done with this project and forgot to tell everyone about it... :rofl3: The center section he's selling was a one-off pc. we made a couple of and I think I have one left...
So thats it? You don't make anything to cover the engine? It looks great, I'd like to have some sort of protection above the engine. What about flares?
If you want something to cover the engine and have fender flares you should probably just keep the stock bed... The reason most people want a bed delete is for better access to the engine and weight reduction. I feel like coming up w/ something to cover the engine and then adding fender flares would result in a really expensive and heavy way to end up with bed again...
However, We did do a custom center section for Bronson originally I suppose some aluminum could be fastened to which would cover up the engine... As for flares I just don't know...
