I know this has been discussed a lot but what are the best ball joints? I know about Keller but not wanting to spend that much.

My opinion Keller hands down. Gets rid of the failure prone c clip. 8 times out of 10 the c clip fails and not the ball joint. My second choice would be the lm-utv again due to it gets rid of the c clip. After that super atv, RCV, frap are all good but you will still deal with broken c clips

WTH are you doing to break the circlip?

On my 16 turbo I literally broke 3 of them in a weekend and the last time it broke the upper ball joint. What most people do not know is the ball joint is designed opposite of what it should be. The c clip takes all of the load and not the ball joint. Look it up and you will see just how many have issues with this. I have broke c clips on every RZR I have ever owned. Here is some pics of the Keller 4 piece 300m ball joints with the new zink coating I just put in my rs1. As you can c by the installed pics they are about 1.75" tall off the a arms and they are full adjustable and rebuild able.

SuperATV has different levels of ball joints depending on how gnarly ya need. I prefer the stock/weaker ones. If they break, it's for a reason. If you upgrade them too much you'll bend major components and possibly the frame. Just my .02

A ball joint is not something you want to cheap out on here. If it fails I assure you it will cause other damage to surrounding parts. A ball joint is the last thing I want to fail. Cuz if it takes a shit it normally decides to destroy a axle, rip a brake line or damage the a arm. Ask me how I know. 900xp broke 4 upper ball joints 3 lowers, 1000xp broke 3 upper ball joints 1 lower, turbo xp broke 2 upper and one lower ball joint. Then Keller came out with his ball joints. Since then I have never broken a ball joint and never had to deal with a destroyed c clip ever again. I tried RCV, frap, oem, american star, and super atv in all my others with no luck. The C clip or the pin by the pinch bolt would fail every time. I only got away one time from a ball joint failure that it didn't mess up something else and cost me even more money. The only other ball joints I ever had luck with are the frap correct load ball joints. Similar to a canam style ball joint. Now I am known to be a tad hard on things and I tend to keep sending when I should let out. But nevertheless a Keller is the end all say all fix in my book

(insert sarcasm voice) I'm sure the factory didn't do any research on what ball joint is required for the application and I'm sure the engineers they hired didn't know anything?

(switch to normal voice) Dude, if you're breaking stuff on the regular like that, you're either driving it like a tool or you need something bigger. RZRs aint trophy trucks man.

I am not nearly as hard on stuff as it sounds you are. just want a good reliable joint that doesn't break the bank. most of my riding is on close technical tails and back roads. I don't abuse my stuff, just bought this one used and want to change to make sure everything is good. I use GP bushings and factory bearings.

I will agree. Keller's and lm require maintenance. They do have many pieces as well. The Keller is more simple than the lm I will say. I pull my ball joints apart and clean them and re grease them every other ride or every 500 miles I do the same with my wheel bearings

I came from the full size world. Ls3 Toyota on 1 tons. I also still race sport quads in the wexcr series locally. So As I stated I am very hard on things. I'm used to the strength of a rig that's hard to break. I'm also used to pushing hard through everything like it's a race. But my point I was trying to say was if you want a good ball joint Keller is it. Look at every race team that runs rzrs. I know it's a standard to run a Keller because nothing else will last. And why waste 500 on a RCV when it's still got a failure prone clip. I'm not that guy that goes and putts around. It's got big suspension and power for a reason. If I wanted to go out and sight see around I would buy a pontoon boat so I could sit on my ass and drink Busch heavys all day. But that's not my style.

The op asked what the best ball joints are. My response is Keller. Tried and true. Tough as shit. Will others work yes. Will you have issues with others maybe yes maybe no. But if you want one of the strongest if not the strongest buy a Keller and b done.

If you want the absolute strongest get the mega Keller. But you will need custom a arms for them.

Tom at atvfourplay Is now making most of his turbo s a arms for the mega keller. These a arms and ball joints make stock xpt stuff look like it's for atv. With guys now pushing the limits and running 35" tires the strength is definitely much welcomed.

The fraps you are talking about I have personally ran and do hold up too some pretty good amount of abuse. And for most you would never hurt them. I mentioned them earlier in this thread that that's the only ball joint I would run with a c clip. Only because the upper is actually loaded correctly. Most reputable a arm manufacturers like zbroz, atv fourplay, houser, lsr all normally supply the frap hd with the a arms they sell.

Anyhoo, sounds like the OP doesn't ride his rzr like Ricky Charmichael or Travis Pastrana and just looking for some good affordable ball joints. I'd say Super ATV, All Balls Racing or Super Dave's would all work well.
Yeah...Travis can beat them up pretty good. :wink

So Bush beer makes one that's even Bushier? Yikes.. :surprise
This^^^ Lol!! :rofl3:
I keep Hamm's in the shop fridge to give away when friends don't BYOB or for mowing on hot days, and a vast collection of IPA's in a secret hidden fridge just for me.

3 really good ones are Keller, RCV, and SuperATV. All 3 of the joints are heavy duty and comparable to one another. You will save yourself about $40-$50 if you purchase the SuperATV brand. All will work great.
