Please see attached photo.
Swapping front A arms and the RF axle came apart on me.
Any ideas how to get that piece out that’s now left in the diff?

Thanks,

Donnie

Yep it’s stuck.

Loaded in the trailer to go to a CV/driveline shop here in town in the AM.

3 jaw gear puller won’t fit.

Big harbor freight slide hammer attachments won’t fit.

Ended up with a pair of vice grips clamped hard enough to not come off with a little bit of the bolt in the end sticking out and ground down one of the slide hammer attachments that came with the small harbor freight slide hammer enough to where the U shape fit perfectly around the protruding bolt head.

Slammed back all the way around for 5 minutes as hard as I could and it might have came out a little bit but still it’s not out.
Had to just reinstall the axle back in 2 pieces so I could install the hub to drive it. Even have a spare freaking axle but without being able to remove the piece it’s useless.
Other than this and the loose/bent upper shock bolt…the upper/lower a arm install went smooth. 😂

yes, the rear goes thru so u can take the other axle out and pound the piece out. not so on the front. i've not had to do that tho. so i've done front and rear this way. maybe you need another gear puller. i've been able to fit the jaws on it and tie them tight with tie wraps so it doesn't come loose. then the slide hammer does the trick. alternately the right length of metal or small dogbone wrench could be maneuvered to catch the inside lip of that axle cup, then slide hammer. or a bolt with a nut u could put on the end to tighten it within that cup, then sh. what about wrap it with a nylon strap wrench, twist it super tight and, you know.

After fighting with a couple stuck axles on different occasions and trying every backyard, home grown solution I bought the Axle Magic 2 puller from all thingz utv. It has yet to take more than 10 slaps to pull an axle for me. The ONLY downside is you have to slide the CV boot back to allow the bolts to lock into the groove to be able to pull the axle out so if you are pulling a good axle to do something like remove the diff you have to replace the CV boot clamps. Cool thing about it is that it is pretty compact and fits in my toolbox on the RZR so if I break an axle on the trail I can get it out!!!
