if you buy a polaris do not take the extended warranty polaristar it does not meet the cost of repair my friend got a 2012 rzr 800 and the engine has burned all the oil on a 80km ride and polaristar say that the piston ring is not warranty and don't want to pay for dammage , most of dealer here in canada have stop to sell polaristar because of the problem of non-compliance with his warranty polaris have sold polaristar to a canadian compagny in kingston ontario just so bad my friend paid 1850.00 for polaristar warranty and now e gonna have to paid for engine repair just so bad , if all people know how is polaristar is no moore gonna paid for nothing

Your dealer has alot to do with it. My dealer has told me Polaris will not question anything they present to them for warranty including some items that may not be covered. They have the benefit of being a huge volume dealer and carry alot of weight with the warranty department. And I paid less than half of your $1850 for it. Something to consider when shopping for the best price...which they also had.

And oh yeah X3 on the drinking and typing.

i'm not drunk lolllll I have a little trouble with my English i'm from quebec :) just want to let you know the problem with polaristar, and sandblster's how can you know if my friend use a aftermarker air filter ?? e still use a polaris air filter, alot of 2012 rzr 800 got some probleme with engine here in the winter, the engine make too much steam in the air box when it's very cold and the filter becomes clogged with ice and oil going all into the air box

I do not know why the engine makes a lot of steam when it is very cold, but when the filter comes with too much water and ice they start to burn or suck oil in air box , last saterday my friend check the level before going to ride and 62 miles later the engine stop with alot of oil ice and water in the air box but no more oil in the engine !!! the dealer said the piston and ring was very bad it's shure the engine have run with no more oil inside but the reason of all oil lost during 62 miles remains a mystery

I don't see how the engine can pull a vacuum inside the air box with the size of the air intake tube. Meaning I don't think the engine would be able to pull the oil up out of the crankcase and into the airbox I think everyone's has the little bit of oil residue in the air airbox coming from the vent tube

How much oil is in the airbox?

I would think oil loss like you are talking about would get the crankshaft bearings and cam bearings before you seen a ring problem.

Have they tore the engine down yet to investigate?

yes there alot of oil in the air box ,when whe remove the air box cover all the oil flow from there about 3 / 4 liters they tore the engine down and tell my friend that the ring and head are in very bad shape , the same think as mine 3 mounts ago, i don't know what's wrong with 800 engine in cold wheather alot of 2012 800 engine here in canada make the same thing when is down -20 outside 2010 and 2011 dont do that only the 2012??

Wonder if a good synthetic oil that works better at the low temperature would help. I like the others do not see how an engine can run with a frozen/plugged air filter, never mind sucking out the oil from the crankcase, but have not experienced such cold weather.

The paper Polaris uses is for snow. That is the only paper they could find in 2008 to stop the fine dust. One reason the filter cost so much is because the "snow" paper is expensive. Suppose to be the the same stuff they use in snow blower engine air filters.

yes i think that too the paper polaris filter is better for fine dust i have trying the uni stag2 for 3 days last summer and i comming back to the polaris filter because i see that fine dust go inside the air intake tube, but in cold wheather i don't know what to doo with it, all the time when temp go under -20 nothing work fine on this air systeme they don't like winter :)
