I'm delivering a rebuilt XP 900 Engine on Christmas Day @ 9AM ...

I just have to work a couple hours in the morning. but loading a feed truck is pretty easy

 

48 hours straight through on Xmas eve and Xmas day. Work at a fire department, our station sees an average of 28 calls a day.

Janet and I will have our "Christmas" on the 26th.

27 years in law enforcement meant working a lot of holidays and weekends....Don't miss that at all!

 

A little over 20 years now, seniority gives me weekends and holidays - YES.

5 years to go.

I'm off tomorrow but have to work today. I'd gladly work any holiday for double time.

Let's all give a shout out and thanks to the unsung heros that are working tommorow and everyday that make life a little easier. A lot of people have thankless jobs that have to get done no matter what. Your snowplow driver. Someone at the wastewater plant making sure the muffin munchers going. The water plant operator checkin quality. The utility workers making sure we have heat and power. The telephone, TV and Internet people. The truck drivers. Hey the list goes on. These and many more do there jobs daily so we can have the lifestyle we live. Thanks all!!
After 15 years in my old job in public works you learn to really respect and give thanks.

Oil field trash here and this is my first Christmas off in about 7 years. To all those who have to work, have the merriest Christmas when you get to have it. One son is a tool pusher and is working this hitch through till next week, the other had to go to San Diego to have Christmas with his kids.:sad: so me and Maw will have our special day when everyone gets back together.

 

Since I was retired, I have had Christmas off, worked every holiday before that, except for a couple of 4th of July's.
As for this one, I got a job and will be working it and New Years again.

It is nice to be home for Christmas for a change.....first Christmas since moving to the office from the field so it feels a little weird to be home for the holidays :rofl3: Hopefully everyone keeps it turning to the right!

I'm a self employed dairy farmer so there's no doubt I'll be working tomorrow lol. The cows get fed and milked twice a day every day no matter what's going on. I hope everyone drinks a big glass of milk with their Christmas meal tomorrow!*

Spent too many years missing Christmas NYE Birthdays etc etc in the oilfield. Don't miss it a bit. When I sold my company in 1998 I threw my hardhat and redwings in the trash and never looked back.
