So went riding on the ice Yesterday and my xp 900 let me down again... I'm getting sick of dumping piles of money into my already expensive toy. Wasn't even doing anything crazy like rock bouncing or mudding. Just some hill climbing from ice to dirt on frozen rivers and boom exploded the front diff. Rumor is the xp1k front diff is a available swap. Has anyone done the swap? Whats it in tail? I know there's a company that builds a new weld in frame piece but I'm pretty handy with fabrication and could possibly make it myself. If anyone has done the conversion or knows of a bulletproof one speak up. This is just ridiculous. The xp 900 front diff looks like it came out of a Barbie jeep power wheel!! What y'all rock bouncin rzrs run? I've seen them things go through hell and hold up. Hope to get some feed back on this. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

ya i know what your sayin crashbot. if they say its 80% stronger well thats not saying much because it took nothing tho break my 900 diff. cant imagine if i was trying! straight cut gears are not for differentials. i think polaris needs a couple of us to help out with the R&D. there is alot of stuff i just cant believe they build it that cheap. Like the splines where your drive shaft hooks up mines loose as a goose and a roll pin to hold it in place? really? come on. rode a maverick x sunday wow. smooth quiet and built. they got a hell of a machine there.

I recently put a 1k diff in my jagged it is a tight fit! but so far holding up great! Rhino axle did break before the diff which is a nice change considering I grenade 2 stock diffs before I did the swap! I made my own plate and mounts 1 wk before they came out w a conversion to do the swap I would have spent the extra on the conversion for sure just to save the time!

got my kit installed last week and went out and beat the crap out of it. 1k diff held up awesome! cv shafts not so much... that will be the next weak link. bent both mine but the diff held up great and the diff plate from gilbert designs works awesome. if you have a welder and good welding/fab skills you can do it. great instructions and a number to talk to joey in person with any questions. great kit!

there seems to be some confusion about that. The 900 and 800 FRONT diff ratio are both 3.82:1

The 900 and 1000 both have the same REAR ratio of 3.53:1 , where as the 800 has a REAR of 3.70:1

But the specs on the 1000 diff says a front ratio of 3.182:1 which I don't understand..

I just can't wrap my brain or get lost in ratios so that's why I just posted the vid to show the difference.. Having a visual of it is much better.

Just blew up my front diff on my Jagged X today. I'm wondering how your guy's swaps have turned out and if you'd do it again given the chance. While I was researching the xp 900 front diffs, I noticed they have a newer model with a "Halo" setup in them (Increases strength i believe) and a billet roller cage. I'm wondering if this made it strong enough to make it worth just swapping for another xp 900 diff instead of doing the xp1k diff. Any help would be great as I need to get this ordered ASAP or my next weekend trip will be canceled :( Thanks.

I fabbed up my own mounts, but would do the Gilbert next time, 100%. Shifts smooth and steers in 4 with speed better than it did with the 900 front diff, and steers awesome on rocks with the higher front ratio, front end is always pulling. Been everywhere from the dunes to area BFE in Moab with 30" tires and have blown up 4 axles and no front diff
