after having lots of parts like the ecu and coil pack replaced along with many other parts replaced,(the rzr 4 was not giving up any codes)and problem continued.well I just had the ignition replaced , did about a 70 mile loop yesterday and for the first time everything was perfect...even w/ the troubles I've had I'd go out and buy that rzr4 all over again!

im scratchin my head right now on the oil. It seems to never register on the dipstick so i add oil. told the dealer and he told me to warm it up good when i check it and i did and same thing. he said check the oil filter to see if there is any oil in there because if i added a qt. i might be over full. so i did that and had about 4oz. of oil in the air box and it still registers at the bottom of the dipstick. so when i get a chance, im going to install new filters and oil and see what happens.

we had a problem with ours the first trip, it ran fine for 20 miles then the next day it would just cut out. It acted like an electrical problem and it spit out some codes that were apparently sensors. Took it to the dealer, said they couldnt find a problem and the codes werent coming up. Got it back and it runs fine, i think i found the problem though. I was installing some HID's and was messing around under the dash, went to turn it on and had no power like the battery was dead...wiggled some wires and found the wires from the ignition were the problem. If you touched the loom it would cut power(like you were turning the key off). Seems like the wires going into the plug were loose so just pushed them in tighter and hasnt had a problem since.

So far so good except the rear clicking noise that sounds like metal to metal. I have adjusted the brakes by turning the the 5mm hex nut that adjust the brake caliber. I then checked that both rear tires rotated freely by jacking it up. Seems to work I will test it this week.
My unit also seems to backfire a little going down hill. Dealer said to use 91 ocatane could this be causing it? I also had the dealer install an extender tube up the bed for the air cleaner, but it was too loud. Dealer said it would breath cleaner and get more air. I switched it back and it seems quieter and so far so good with everything else. Polaris stock air cleaner appears to get air from between both rear seats. It does not pick up air from anywhere near the drivers side rear tire that had plagued the older models.

Only problem I have is time...not enough of it.

Went on a quick 50 mile loop on Saturday chasing two buddys on dirt bikes.

They were trying to lose me by tackling the hardest terrain they could find along the way - the only consideration they gave me was - No single track trails...that would have been cheating.

One of 'em pulled away on a straightaway doing 70, but I knew what was ahead of him and was right there on him when he had to slow down.

No problems yet. Did a 25 mile trip in the Colorado Mountains on Friday. :ride: There was 4" to 6" of snow on the trail. The stock RZR and the RZR S were stuck all day. The RZR 4 did not get stuck all day. The higher ground clearance really helped. I have both a RZR 4 and a RZR S and I cant tell you how impressed I was with the RZR 4. Hopefully this electrical problem is only a few. :scared2:

no major issues for me. 110 miles so far in the dunes. This week I will be going through it for its first service and will inspect it from front to back and see if there are any issues noticeable but for now it is doing great.

I did have a minor electrical problem but the fix was easy. The connector that plugs into the ignition switch was a loose fit on two of the pins. Sometimes you would go to start and nothing, acted like a dead battery. Move the connector on the switch and bingo. I just took a very small screw driver and bent the tabs on the connector on the harness end to put more pressure on the pins on the ignition switch. 170 miles and no more problems. This could be a common problem. If you are having trouble move that connector around and see what happens. I still love my "S" but this RZR4 is really a great machine.

Right rear clicking, tightened Allen screw on brake caliper also found anti-sway bar a little lose, tightened bolts. Appears to gring in gears, not bad thou and appears normal. Radiator hoses wear on frame up front by steering column and in the rear by gas tank. Put wire protector around hose and now I'm good to go. This is a great maching, nothing is perfect, but it's pretty darn close.

YES!!!!!!! I have had quite a few problems.
Don't get me wrong I love this thing but problems.
My rzr 4 completely cuts out at higher RPMs.
Like the key is turned off. Really sucks on steep hills losing all power. Step off the gas and on again to correct problem. Also I have had really low idle speed 700 rpm, stalls when going down hills. Sometimes it fine at about 1170 Rpm. No help from dealer,
Also Code 26 appears and engine light on. Been 15 miles from camp and hated to drive with engine light on but not much choice.
Dealer reset and said dont worry about it. Am i supposed to now just ignore check engine light?
Any help would be appreciated.
