I was told at some point that the owner of haulmark sold to another person. He then opened look trailers. Aluminum is best in the midwest to avoid all the rust problems. I purchased a 16ft. with a 3 ft V from R&R. The trailer is good and will do what i need but I had a few conversations with them after the fact on their attention to detail. Everyones trying to push out the most they can with the least amount of work and quality it seems.

Re: Freedom Trailers Feedback

:rollfinger:If you are considering a Freedom Trailer ...

I have one that is less than a year old.

I just visited the factory for the second time in less than a year.
My roof is tearing off (again) in the same place.
(4) months ago I had to travel 1500 miles round trip to
Willacoochie, GA to have the roof replaced.
At that time, I questioned the design and construction quality.
I made it clear that the roof would probably tear again if modifications
were not done.
The Owner of the company declined.
I just made the trip again this week because of the roof tearing off again.
After spending (2) hours, my visit ended with the Owner yelling and screaming at me (which he had done on my first visit).
He refused to honor his warranty.

This company is not registered with the Better Business Bureau.
As of this date, they have at least (3) complaints filed this year
with the BBB and a ' B ' rating.

If you want an ongoing problem - buy a Freedom Trailer from
Willacoochie, GA .....
Sorry to hear that, So far I'm still very happy with mine. Its almost two years old and has about 5k miles on it.

Lol which one? Just noticed the one I posted in this thread is my old one. I bought a 7x24 +2 foot v almost 2 years ago and converted it. It's also a freedom brand trailer. My 6x14 worked well but we ended up with two rzrs so I needed a 20 foot garage. I think I have the newer one posted on here also. I'll see if I can find a link

Check out this link. Has both my trailers I built and a few others in it
http://www.rzrforums.net/tow-rigs-trailers-camping/2525-cargo-trailer-camper-6.html

OP Sorry to Hijack, that does suck and from the looks of it the cut the panel for the roof to short. The only real way to fix it is to replace the roof. The only problem I had with freedom was on my first trailer I had them insulate it and they did a poor job.. Sent pictures to the dealer and he forwarded them to the factory. They called me and apologized and sent me a check for the full amount of what they charged to insulate it.. I was happy because it only cost me about 25 bucks and some time to fix but I was refunded something like 350.. Strange how some can have good experiences while others have bad ones.. Same goes with polaris.. I've had two RZRs with very little problems. The problems I have had were repaired under warranty no questions asked.. But you can get on here and see several threads of people having the very opposite experience..

No Hijacking,

Folks want to hear when things go good or bad.

In my case, the roof was not cut too short.

At (6) months the framework was flexing so much that the
one piece roof tore out of the lip holding it on the trailer
gutter - caught air and began to tear.

The whole roof was replaced (6) months ago after a
1500 mile round trip to the factory in Willacoochie, GA.

Broken/missing welds were also fixed.

(4) months after that - roof is tearing apart in the
exact same location again.

Trailer framework is breaking apart after less than one year.

Again, folks should know what lies ahead before they
buy a trailer ... :rollfinger:

Shouldn't be.. I just clicked on it.. Takes you to page six of a thread titled "Cargo trailer / camper?" On that page is where pictures of my larger trailer is posted.

Got you, That makes since. Are your walls 16" on center or 24" on center. You have any kind of ceiling installed? I'm guessing you did leave the plywood on the inside?

Link works! Great job 8ball!

I looked around at quite a few trailers and settled on a new company called LOOK. They are a break away company from Haul mark. Good quality, well built, good customer service. Looked at many companies before settling on LOOK. Having a custom 35 foot v-nose bumper pull with dual 7k torsions built and electrical (ac, vents, lights installed). They have their primary plant in Indiana for mid to East coast and a plant in Phoenix for us in the Southwest.
I had a trailer built by Look Trailers also known as Cargo Express. Almost a $16,000 trailer. Not to go into all of it, but...first loading experience and the ramp failed, it tore loose and hit the driveway. They only tack welded it in place. First trip and two wheels fell off, one at 70 mph and went head on into traffic. Much more happened. Two of the four wheel bearing nuts could be turned one and a half turns clockwise by finger. It cost me $960 to fix the trailer to get it home. They took the trailer back and promised to pay me the $960. This has been since July and they will not pay my cost to fix the trailer. O'yea one more little thing. To make the axles line up they boogered out the mounting holes so they could slide the axles forward. This was a 17k lb capacity trailer. I weighed it prior to my trip at 12K lbs. :rm_thumbdown:

Warning--stay away from Look Trailers, Cargo Express

Thank you for posting ... :dankk2:

The only way folks know who to buy from and who
to not buy from is by reading feedback from trailer owners.

We all make mistakes - the difference is how the mistakes
are handled.

I absolutely love my Aluma trailer. I have used it lots and it still looks like new. Its all aluminum construction, so it is unaffected by our winters up here and is very light to tow.

Re: Thanks for posting

find something like this used 20' Featherlite trailer for 12 grand and I can damn near guarantee you that you wont have to worry about the ramp braking loose from the box:

Featherlite V Nose Enclosed 20' Car Hauler For Sale

a brand new 2013 model is only 18 grand. I realise that is a lot of money for an enclosed trailer for most people, but if you spend 16k plus 960 to repair and still have a junky trailer, where are you really at?

2013 FEATHERLITE 20 ft Enclosed Car Hauler For Sale

They also have very nice open deck haulers and smaller enclosed trailers.

PJ Trailers makes a good quality product from what I have heard and Big Tex seems to be good too, but never owned either. Had friends with both. Stay away from PACE. They are garbage (and now bankrupt)
Thanks for the great advice. I purchased a Featherlite SURV. To make the photos clear--the ramp failure is on the LOOK/CARGO EXPRESS trailer.

Crap :scared2:

I am just a few weeks away from picking my custom trailer up. Hopefully that was a bad build day and they are in the process of hiring someone to replace the poor manager that handled your case. I have already put down 4k deposit that is not refundable so all I can do is hope for the best at this point. I do know that one of the members I ride with has a LOOK trailer locally and he hasn't had any issues at all. In addition, I know that the local authorities have purchased some large custom build trailers from LOOK and had no issues as well. I will just continue to hope for a glass all full, not half full or empty and see where I land up. Thanks for the input though. I will certainly pay particular attention to the areas mentioned for weld completions and axle attachment.
