Air Filter

I have recently purchased a 2009 Rzr 800s.
I have read and appreciated your comments on using the "stock" paper air filter. However in my owners manual seen attached. The stock air filter is in fact a foam uni filter. This Rzr has 3500 miles on it and I was bummed to find that it still has the foam uni filter in it! I would still prefer to change it to a Polaris original paper filter. My question is regarding the part number. I can only assume that since the uni filter was stock. The part number for this would just be another uni filter and not the paper filter I want. Anyone else had this situation? Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for your reply.
I took the old filter and housing cover to the dealer. The replacement paper filter has two part numbers printed on the bottom. #7081566 on the top. And #6124121 on the bottom. See pic.
The question the dealer could not answer was the low spot on the cover housing. There are three mechanical latches and a fourth catch that serves as a hinge point. The cover dips down at this location. See picture. Is this normal? They didn't have a new one for comparison.

Yes that is normal. All the oem filters I have purchased had a small round piece of foam that is glued to the filter in that divot where the part numbers are showing in your pic. But it wont hurt for it to not be on there, I have ran them both ways.

Also normal. Its like a hinge for the airbox lid. Just make sure you get it lined up correctly when installing.

polarispartshouse.com is a great place to cross reference parts since polaris updates numbers. The divot is to keep the filter centered on the inner housing tube. This is the polaris part number and from personal experience polaris brand is the only one I will use, aftermarket ones let too much dust through.

The "divot" is normal. It allows the cover to clear the housing, as it pivots on the hinge point.
