Planning a trip to Abernathy's to pick up a xp 4 1000. Anyone use a uhaul for a four seater? I know people have used 12' trailers; just wanted to verify that uhaul (without ramp) is truly 12' and will work before driving out. Won't have my own trailer prior to going there.

I picked up my xp-4 in a Uhaul 6x12 from the dealer. It will absolutely fit. It is VERY tight, but it does fit. If needed, just air out your tires a bit. It WILL fit. Just make 100% sure you don't get one with a ramp gate. The ones with a ramp gate have an opening that is too narrow.
For anyone reading this later looking for information...

There must be different 6x12 trailers used by uhaul whether it's regionally or just luck of the draw. The trailer they started to hook up had the narrow opening Jrubin mentioned. I believe it was only 51" wide. Two thumbs up for the service rep there that gave me the car hauler for the same price since the narrow opening is not disclosed online.

There are 2 6'x12' utility trailers.

This one with the ramp gate will NOT work:
U-Haul: 6x12 Utility Trailer Rental w/Ramp

This one WITHOUT the ramp gate will work:
U-Haul: 6x12 Utility Trailer Rental

Note the opening widths of both utility trailers. My guess, is that you were somehow given a 6'x12' with ramp gate…but the ramp gate was removed. I am 100% positive the CORRECT 6'x12' with no ramp gate works. I've rented from a few u-haul places and have never had issues getting my 1kXP4 in any of them.

That is probably the most likely.
