Yes that is a worry. I only have 200 miles on my 570. I know someone who has 3000 on his, and no problems. What year is it? 12 or 13.

 

The year of the machine is a 2012. I just spoke to a someone that has rebuilt a couple 570s with crank problems. Not the recall issue, I was told they are junk as a stock crank. I will keep you all posted.

 

The problem was the crank shaft bearing. The bearing is connected to the crank. So it's scrap. The top end is still good. There going to see if polaris will cover the parts. I'm still going to have to pay for a lot of labor. I seen the engine split in half today at the dealer, lots of parts in that engine. What a bummer..

 

I have over 5,400 miles on my 2012 570. Lots of minor problems but nothing real expensive. As soon as other 50 inch brands are avilable I will trade mine in. My 2011 RZR 900 has 8,246 miles on it has been great. I did several improvements to avoid major problems do to the high mileage. Again as soon as a Kawasaki, Honda, or Yamaha model is available I will trade that one in also. The Polaris build quality is poor as is a few major design problems. I shorkel my intakes up under the roof for clean air. I'm just too old to wait and the RZR fun factor is worth the improvements. It takes about a week and $1,000 to set them up for high mileage.

 

Forgot to mention with the clean air into the belt drive my belt on both RZR's is still OK. If the 900 is still in spec at 10,000 miles I will change it and use the original belt for a spare. I keep the belt drive exhaust stock blowing across the header pipes.

 

I had a crank failure on my 2012 570 also that wasn't one of the recalled "batch". It was covered under extended warranty and I was lucky enough to get a complete crate motor from Polaris. I'm not happy with the quality of the work from my dealer (KW Cycles) though. Can you post up the number for your dealer? Romeo isn't much farther of a drive for me and it sounds like it would be worth the trip if any other issues surface for me.

A crank shaft bearing should not go after 95 hours unless it is run out of oil. You can not run a stock engine in any way that would hurt that bearing and make it fail...as long as there is clean oil for it to run in. IMO

Well guys I have 4 oil changes in 95 hours with all Polaris oil and filters. So lets just say it can happen. I talked with swing arm and he has already rebuilt 570 engines with the the crank bearing going bad. I'm a maintenance freak when it comes to my machines. The main reason I bought the 570 over the 800, I can change all fluids and filters in 45 minutes. My dealer showed me the problem Saturday when they split the engine open. The top end is fine but it needs a new crank and there putting new rings in which is common. They were shocked it didn't do more damage. The mechanic said its a good thing I didn't try driving it or the cylinder wall would of been toast. I'm hoping polaris will pick up the parts.

I'm hearing that the 570 crank bearing is is a problem. I do know that there's no other crank to replace the Polaris one at this time. If there was I would pay the price and run with a different crank.

I'm starting to wonder if the turbo 570 thread is gone because the crank bearing took a poop.

 

Unless the bearing was defective. Remote, but not impossible.

 

A defective part is what I was pointing towards...more of a Polaris obligation to fix...

 

Here's a good update! My polaris dealer (Ball equipment) got polaris to cover the parts. John Gilbert and Chris Ball run the best dealership in Michigan! I don't know how they did it.

 

Good news do you have the extended warranty or did they cover it as a defect?

 

I have no extended warranty. They called polaris themselves and asked to cover the parts.

Jim is right about this dealership I have a polaris dealer 5 miles from my house and I still drive 40 miles to Ball, I have bought 2 machines from John and Chris at Ball and they are on it! I have bought many toys from other places and when you leave its like you never existed not the case there they will try to do what ever it takes to get you back riding. In fact i did have a problem with my XP and the parts were on backorder without hesitation John said he would take the parts off his only other unit that he had forsale possibly losing a sale on a brand new unit in my opinion now thats customer service!!

 

They are the best dealer in Michigan! We just need Chris to come out of retirement and get back in a Rzr. I can't convert John, he's still has hopes of making the super cross circuit. Lol....:rofl3:

 

Just like my dealership, Triple S. They were ready to yank a drive clutch off a new 570 if they didn't have the parts to fix mine, without hesitation.
