I am starting a project to put the new gauge cluster into the dash. Going to require a bit of fiberglass work.

Currently just waiting on the gauge and a few other items to ship.

 

Need to find a salvage yard to pull one off a wrecked unit for cheap. A new one is $215.

I was thinking about just trying to use the metal dash support from the newer model. So the new dash would bolt right up. I know the attachment points are very close if not the same. I’ve watched eBay for one but they have all been on the frame that I’ve found.

 

It looks like there are 2 little problem areas. The right side plastics need notched out for the new cubby and some support for the center of the dash will need to be fabbed. Other than those 2 things, it seems possible.

And yes, you would need to go all the way and do the front fascia swap too. I already have all the parts ordered for that.

Forgive me for reviving an old thread. Did you have to cut out and replace the entire dash support weldment p/n 1024577-329?

 

I have looked into it some. The cluster is plug and play as far as the plug goes. The first test would be the metal dash support. I have thought about ordering one but if you start you kinda have to go all the way with hood, front fascia and all.
