No way, my 2015 xp 1000 will do 82, sorry but I don't believe that unless they cut back the speed limiter. If they did, that sucks, you need to get an ECU tune!

Just because it a turbo doesn't mean the top speed is higher, it'll just get there quicker. It would have to be geared differently to get a true higher speed limit. An ecu reflash won't change that either unless you are hitting a factory speed limiter and getting rid of that with the reflash. Not sure the factory has a speed limiter though, I only hear about rpm and rev limiters.

 

I suppose that is true, it has a lot to do with the gearing. Just seems strange that a motor with that much horsepower would be slower. I think you are right about the ECU tune, they remove the rev limiter and rpm limiter. Not sure about the speed limiter.

 

I just got my hands on something to flash my machine and the stock Ecu has a speed límit of 85 in High gear 50 in reverse and if am not mistaken 60 or 65 in Low gear so yes it's limited everywhere this thing rocks can edit all of that can even edit the DTC disable them

 

So you're saying that the top speed is 85 mph from the factory? If so that makes more sense than 70 mph. Also, what is DTC? So how fast will it go after you do your tune?

 

Guys mine did 78 stock. With BMP stage 2 flash and stage 2 clutching exhaust etc. now see 87-88 mph

 

My 16 turbo will hit 90 plus with two guys, it has an evo tune. Evo does raise the top speed limiter. Also lifts the torque limiter as well.

 

I think evo claims that with their reflash they raise top speed to 93.... I can tell you first hand that 90 is a Rzr is getting it!! Surprisingly stable though

 

Ok just to clarify a bit, my top speed of 70 was its first run out of the box. 3 adults in the car, on a pretty flat trail. I had it pinned and glanced at the speedo. Will it do 80, 85? Probably, for all I know it'll do 100 but it seemed to be topped out at the time.

Why does it matter? It only matters if you can drive it that fast 10% of the time I bet you are below 20 mph average

The op asked a question and I gave him an answer..... And by the way. My average is higher than 20. I ride 99% trails, and they are pretty wide and fast for the most part.

Mine will do 93mph, Evo stage 2

 

My 2017 turbo does 83mph stock.
It does 80mph then cuts ignition I'm guessing, then creeps to 83mph.
I just put evo stage 2, borla exhaust, Osp clutch, and 32s on it. I will let you know what it does now after I finish the cage up.

 

How much are you guys paying for the EVO tune? Sending ECU for reflash?

 

Depends on what stage you want. Check the evo site they are all listed on there

I guess I'm a little different. I don't care if my XPT goes 85 or 95 mph. It is how fast it gets to the top speed. That's what matters to me.

 

I guess that would make me even more different - I don't care how fast it gets there or how fast it goes if it can't do it through 3' whoops

 

Not sure how fast my 17 goes yet but can tell you my 15 four seater is around 84 to 87 on the street and in the 70's on the sand. That's EVO stage 3 with thier exhaust and Dalton clutch. So I don't see why the 17 won't be in the 90s. There have been a few on the forum that have GPS's thier rides and posted. My rev limiter is set at 9500. 2014 RZRs are governed at 78 and so are the 16 turbos and they hit that speed.

 

My run was not on gps just my speedo which could be off. But evo does claim like another 15 mph top end, or something like that. And I also don't really care about how fast it goes top end. 0-70 is where I spend most my time. But there is this one trail that runs along the expressway, and I do get a kick out of passing the cars with a big ole cloud of dust behind me.lol

 

75 is MoRE then fast enough for my neck of the woods.. I just wanna get there like lightning!
