Mine does the same. Everything I have read shows others with same issue. Apparently a aftermarket belt helps some (thinking Gates) and there are some clutching improvements that really help. Wish I had some links but I'm sure someone else will jump in.
My 2017 Trail does the same thing, you need to stomp on the gas to get it to move and when it does, it is with a jerk. I thought perhaps a clutch kit would help but after talking to Todd at Hunterworks he told me anything less than a replacement with a Duraclutch would not give me the smooth response I am looking for.
Unfortunately $1,200 i snot in the cards right now, maybe next spring!
Gates from Todd really makes this issue better. Just changed my existing Gates belt after a 5 day 700 mile marathon trip because it was getting really jerky again. When I pulled the belt it was glazed pretty good because I'm sure I didn't use low when I should have. Put the new belt on and it engaged great again. Surprisingly the old belt measured up within one mm of the new belt so it holds up super, just my fault for not using low when I should have.
