Getting ready to install a clutch kit. Wondering if it is okay to use an impact to remove the bolt on the secondary. Hopefully i can , since i have no way to hold the secondary while trying to break the bolt loose.

Hand tighten. Then torque wrench. The older models you could use your impact but the new ones in order for your clutch to work properly it needs to be torqued to spec. Hunterworks has a video on his website explaining the reasons and how to do it. I'm sure some people still use their impact but it's not how it's suppose to be done

Thanks guys. I usually never use an impact to put bolts like that back in, I'll hand tighten then use a torque wrench. I don't use air tools on a regular basis so that is a recipe for destroying things.

Got both primary and secondary off yesterday. Battery impact for the secondary and air for the primary. Although , there was no way that primary bolt was torqued to 96 ft/lbs, I think the battery one would have broke it loose. Pulling the clutch was a different story. It took a combination of the impact and some sharp hits on the end of the puller to knock it loose. After removing the puller I also saw it was slightly bent, so that one is now trash.

I've been around CVT systems for a while, mostly on snowmobiles and I've never seen such a strange secondary. First off, who was the brain genius that thought a square puck would be a better idea than a round roller. Also just the design of the secondary is odd, compared to the other Team secondaries I've seen.

Now while pulling the rear part of the CVT cover (getting ready to align engine/trans) a washer fell out as I took one of the 10mm bolts out. Anyone else find that there was a spacer behind that cover ? There was only one out of the seven.
