I’ve got a 2014 RZR 1000 with roughly 100 hours on it. It’s started to run extremely rough at low idle and even dying when I stop at times. Seems to be running extremely rich with fuel. I don’t know if the octane of fuel I started putting in it (90 octane) has anything to do with it but it seem to start its problems after I begin putting higher octane in it. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on the problem or may have had the same problem.

Did you change altitude in between starts? Remember smooth idle depends on feedback from an O2 sensor, and so the engine runs open loop for a minute or so. Will consistently die the first couple starts if I shut it off at 5000 ft and restart it cold at 200 ft, or vice versa. It is just the engine running the oxygen levels it remembers until the O2 sensor kicks in.

6 years and 100 hours?

when was the fuel last replaced?

when was the last time it ran well?

for what it’s worth I fill up with fuel each end of season, add stabill, run for a bit, add a battery tender, and call it till spring. Then I siphon out the fuel, put it in my mower, amd reload with fresh 93.
