I'm looking at buying either a 2010 RZR S 800 or a 2014 RZR XC 800. Both good deals and both low miles for their respective years. The 2010 $5,200 2800 miles, the 2014 $6,800 and 1500 miles. My question is this- how much better of a machine is the 2014 over the 2010 and is the difference worth it?. I am brand new to Razors so that's why the potentially dumb question. Thanks

I have a 14 XC, I don't think there is any big difference. The biggest difference I think is the S will be wider and have a better suspension simply because the A arms are longer. The 14 might have LED headlights which is nice. Also, the XC will have power steering and nicer seats I think? Either one sounds like a great price to me.

I'm pretty new to this too so maybe someone will chime in that knows more.

I think the 2014 XC would be my choice. I am no expert by any means but from what I have read the XC has Walker Evans shocks, better seats and power steering. And if you have 50 inch trail width restrictions you can make it 50 inch by changing to stock 800 wheels and tires and removing the fender flares if I am reading this correctly. Plus it is 4 years newer.

It's going to depend on your riding area which will work best for you. If it's tight trails then I would go xc, if machine width is not a concern then I would go "S". As for the differences as RZR_Scott said above the biggest is going to be suspension. The 2010 "S" has 12" of travel front and rear and is 60" wide( actually will measure 62ish with stock wheels) has Fox Podium 1.5 shocks, integrated rear cage(back bones), different style front grill and hood, 39 psi fuel pump, bigger cv joints on the axles and no power steering from the factory. Now this is based on a stock machine, who know what may have been changed in 2800 miles. And power steering can be added for around $500 and I highly recommend it. Now for the 2014 XC, it has 9" of front suspension travel and 9.5" of rear suspension travel and is 55" wide ( probably 57ish if measured) with the stock 14" high offset wheels. It basically a stock 50" 800 suspension set up with better shocks and high offset wheels to make it wider. It prolly comes with oem power steering, and perhaps some other special add ons from factory that no other rzr has. Has the updated 2011-14 front grill and hood. It also should have the 58 psi fuel pump that came in the xp900's. Also does not have the integrated rear cage(back bones) those were only offered on the 2009-2010 "S" models. And probably a few other differences between them but those are the ones off the top of my head.

11 and newer have some motor upgrades also, which supposedly give better fuel economy (more range) if that's a concern at all. I've also read on here that there were some transmission problems in early 10s due to some slight change, and they ended up changing it back. Check the build date and search on here for that. But if it made it that many miles it may have been fixed already. Pinion nut is a concern with either one.

LOL I'm thinking about a 3rd machine, after seeing a couple of very clean units for sale locally at very good prices. One is a 10 4 seat Robby Gordon with 2700 miles, asking 7k. The other is a 08 with 3600, asking 5k. It has v2 bear claw doors also painted to match. Just to give you an idea on prices.
