2013 900xp starter spinning

Hey guys first post here searched as much as I could but couldn’t figure out my issue. It seems to me it’s the one way bearing but would appreciate your input before I go buy a flywheel puller...

starter spins seems fine. Engages every once in a while but not very often

anymore. Hard to go riding like that! Going to try to post this video with my stay or cover off and see if youguys can agree I should get that flywheelnpuller and take it off!

can’t get this video to load but basically the starter spins fine. Spins the medium size gear to right of it very easily. Which then also spins the big gear behind the flywheel.

If the big gear behind the flywheel turns but the flywheel doesn't, then I believe you have to pull the flywheel. JMHO

Mine did the same. It started to get worse and worse where it wouldn't start at all. I eventually had to buy a flywheel puller and replace the sprag behind it. I might be able to sell you my flywheel puller as I am selling my 900 and wont need it.

My 2013 900xp is also acting like that, sometimes the starter will just spin, then after a few times it will kick in, I keep thinking the one way bearing but should I just replace all the gears or will the bearing be enough? I’ve already got the fly wheel puller because I was working on an issue of it not charging right and found they had a recall on it for the regulator which mine was the original, but it melted my stator plug so I’m going to order a new stator anyway
