I have been nice to long. 1st thing was the rubber boot that covers the front CV joint. It was never crimped. 2nd the decals are just falling off.... flapping in the wind. now the topper... We just got done in the trails and was heading back to the trailer. when the steering column just snapped off. there is a bracket that holds the column in place After looking at the weld it was just tack welded. it was never completely welded. thank god we didn't put it into a tree or something like that. dropped it off at the dealer today. not sure what can be done. he said it is a frame issue that the factory needs to get involved. not looking good for me. has anyone had this many problems with a new RZR?

i have 2012 rzr 4 800 as well, only reason i bought a polaris was that it was the only machine out there that had a sporty 4 seater,
it is only 6 months old and here are my issues and problems

1- right from day one i had a majior issue. Top speed was only 52 mph.
I called the dealer told them there was a problem with the rzr. They told me it was normal, so then i started to do reasearch on the problem and found out it was a problem,, but the dealer wouldnt do anything about it

2- had 2 roll cage bolts break off while out on a run, polaris replaced them

3- steady bearing went, polaris replaced it

4- primary and secondary clutches

5- and last but not least just before factory warranty was over
all 4 carrier bearings
all 4 ball joints
all front and rear a arm bushings
polaris will replace the ball joints and the carrier bearings but will only pay for 2 hrs labour
i have to replace all bushings myself

ask me if i am a polaris lover,, not !!!! ,, if they made a good machine and stood behind their product they would give you a decent warranty,, they make them to fall apart , 6 months warranty is garbage, but i love the look of it :),, the rzr that is ,, i use mine alot, in 6 months i got 3900 miles on it to date,, no mud no rocks, only logging roads and old rail way at high speeds,,

feel free to complain, I will never be a Polaris fan, I only have one because It is the only 50" in the game, my reason for never buying one before is the AWD is realy crap. so I will keep fixing it, and cussing it, and having over the top fun with it. lol. OP lots of us feel your pain, lol

update... I have a feeling i will be updating quite often. Talked to the dealer today that has the RZR, he said he talked with Polaris and they said get some hilljack to weld it, and paint it up with some rattle can paint. Ok,,, that is really not what they said, But that is what I heard. Now the fight is on. I have to call argue with Polaris, that it needs repaired properly. I take my family on this thing, that is why we paid to get a 4 seater. now I am not sure I can trust all the welds on this frame. any advice? wish me Luck

Don't understand your concern about welding. Look at all the frames that have had reinforcement welding to them. Not a big issue. As for painting, not a big issue either. To bad it was missed at factory. Would ask dealer to look it over real good when they take off the plastic and make sure there are no more such areas, or go look yourself when they have the plastic off.

I'm well satisfied with my 2010 RZR4. I've got around 1050 miles, most of them are mountain, rocky trails. The only problems I've had were the bushings, but I'm not complaining with the type of riding I do. I'll put a set of bushings in every 800-1000 miles for the fun it brings to the family.

Last resort :

Look for cracked or chipped paint on welds, hairline cracks. And look it over good. Perhaps if your not too sure what to look for find a welder to look it over and help you out. Take before pics, pictures of the weld ground clean, the finished new weld, than a picture of it painted. Get it welded with solid wire mig (gmaw), maybe .023 wire

Record all info. But I would have polaris pay the bill. And I wouldn't let a dealer weld it. Anyone can weld with mig but a certified welder is what I would recommend. I am a certified welder.

newest update!!! Polaris basically told me to take what they offer or deal with it on my own(at my expense). the dealer is getting a certified welder to weld it, and some body shop to touch it up. The dealer is awesome with there help. Polaris will only talk to a dealer. I can only talk to some girl at Polaris whose job is to type complaints in a computer( her words) . they are going to treat it like it is new and go over all the nuts bolts and make sure it is right( the stuff the selling dealer did not do) hopefully it wont take too long.

If that would have been mine I would have pulled it into the shop and welded it up , shakey canned the weld and went riding. 30 minutes tops. I didnt pay 15000 for a toy to sit at a dealers back room waiting for them to decide when they'll get around to fixing a small issue. Major issues will be the dealers job . Anything that I can do that doesnt involve major work or alot of money I'd rather do myself for a couple of reasons. First if I do it myself I know it will be done right and second I want to use my rzr not leave it at a dealership.I'm bettin they broke out the shop mig, whoever they figured was the best welder there or at least knew how to turn the welder on, welded it up and shakey canned it with vhf which matches the rzr's paint. Here ya go you should be happy they took care of you so quickly LOL 47 days ?????? Rediculious.
