I got screwed! My 2011 doesn't have those!

 

it shoud scroll to (E) east,it will have outside temp next to it,but i have no idea how to reset it ..

 

That sounds like your motor temp to me....

 

thats what i thought but dealer told me it is outside temp?

 

Dealer told me the new models that just came out had the outside temps. It would be nice to have.

I think the dealer meant motor temp. I don't think the RZR's have an outside temp setting.

Didn't know it had that! I will check and see if my '11 S does also. When I get home from work. As for resetting something try unhooking the battery. It works for just about everything else. Keep us posted if you figure it out.

 

My '11 doesn't have compass or outside temp in the gauge display and there is nothing in the owner's manual about either of those. The only temp display is for engine temp, and it displays an "E" to indicate that's what it is showing.

 

wierd they (dealer) still say it is compas & outside temp,who knows i sure dont,your right nothing in manual,again dealer told me not in manual..

 

If I had to guess, he "deals" in stuff other than Polaris.....and he's been smoking some of his product!!!!:rofl3:

 

Even if it did have a compass, if it didn't have set way of entering a geographical location I don't see it happening, have you ever seen a declination diagram.. I highly doubt Polaris would want you messing with those inputs, let alone how you world input it in the first place? Now if you cannot adjust the declination for your location, Don't bother, it's just for show... Next thing you know you rely on it & get lost....

Good luck though if it has one, & please let us know... Wouldn't it also be on the XP? I'm curious...

 

I might not be a smart man. A compass would be of some use if you had a map and had a general idea of where you are at and where you would like to go but the out side temp reading is alittle odd. the machine has no doors or windows so basically it is the temp that is all around you if you are cold its cold and if it is hot you are hot. gage cluster can't help with that.

 

In my truck, to reset the compass I have to drive around in circles 5-6 times so the dealer might be totally wrong.

 

Page 47 of my 2011 RZR/4/S manual talks about a Engine Temp mode - displays current temp of the coolant. Don't see anything about a compass so far.

The 2 other dealers are right. I'd run, not walk, from that first dealer....if they're that ignorant about Polaris products, I sure as heck wouldn't want them servicing my rig!

my 2011 is stuck on E also, no mention in the owners manual about the compass either, although my dealer did say that it has one. Temp display is current engine temp....

 

There isn't a compass I promise you guys!

 

If you look up under the dash board you will find a 9v. battery, unplug it and then plug it back in you now are in the reset mode, in the polaris site under owners manuels you will find the reset instructions

yup there is no compass, the E stands for engine when you are on temp mode, if you scroll through the modes it isn't there anymore unless you are on engine temp mode. Oh well it was nice to think it had one, i was kind of excited to get it to work...
