Can anyone tell me what changed mid year on the 2009 rzr 800s. I have looked at the part numbers for the 2010 and it is the same for the shock but the spring is different. Im guessing a 2010 and up spring will work but just curious to what changed.

Unless you are just trying to replace 1 spring, I wouldn't mess with the oem springs, they sag really quick. Be better off going aftermarket. Just my opinion. But to answer your question, any springs from 2009 800S until at least 2013 800S with Fox Podium 1.5 inch diameter shocks should fit. I have a full set of takeoffs from my 2012.

Well to my knowledge the 09 "S" had the same 1.5" Fox Podium shocks as all the other year "S" models at least up to 2012. I can't remember if it was 2013 or 2014 that they changed the shocks a bit. But I think they were still 1.5" Fox Podiums. The 4 seat rzr 800 has 2" Fox shocks so the springs are bigger. At least the later models(11-14) do, not 100% on the 2010 4 seat.

For what it's worth I'm running the RT Pro spring kit on our 800S and love them. Schmidty Racing also makes a set of dual rate springs for the 1.5 Podiums.

If you don't need or care about a dual spring setup you could consider these from Bandit. They are cheaper and there is no slider to rub and wear out your shock body. 2009-14 POLARIS RZR 800 S 2 SEAT MODEL 60" UPGRADE SPRING KIT | Bandit UTV

Any of the recommended spring packages will be an upgrade over stock. On my Rzr 800 Trail I use the RT Pro duals in the rear and linear rate springs in the front. On my 1000 I use the Schmidty dual rates w/ crossover.
