I just bought a 2008 rzr. The guy installed new fuel pump and some rzr s exhaust. Now the rzr will start and idle fine. But when u drive it slow its fine, push the gas to make it go it pops and cuts out and acts like it cant rev and only goes about 35. At idle in park u can mash the gas and it will rev to 5000 rpms but it doesnt get there quick at all, it slowly climbs there.... Anyone had this problem???? I didnt know if u all thought it would be a fuel issue with not enough fuel pressure or an injector problem... Or maybe a cdi problem... Please help with ideas...

Thats about what mine was doing... My rzr also had a snorkel kit when I bought and I took it off and it is still running like that.... I have changed the plugs and they where like a brown burnt color if that helps any.... Like I said it will start and idle fine but no mid to top power at all. I am gonna start checking fuel pressure and voltage tomorrow... Someone had also mentioned that reflashing the computer may also take care of it, any truth to that????

ok, thanks everyone for the replies... I done a little checking this morning. Fuel pressure is at 40 when I turn key on on goes down to about 38.5 when running... Voltage is also good and charging good.... Pull injectors and one was dirty but not to bad. I cleaned them and reinstalled.... Pulled throttle body and it was dirty with black film... I cleaned it out with throttle body cleaner... I pulled sensor on top of rubber boot before throttle body and it was almost melted???? I cleaned it off but inner cover on sensor is gone... All it had was a few prongs and a little needle type thing hanging there.... Is this right or is it bad... Is it supposed to have a cover of some sort over needle??? anyways put it all back together, it is reving a little better but still popping through air cleaner and still no top end power???? Maybe a bad sensor on boot or maybe motor problems, any ideas???

its called a t-bap (temp barometric air pressure)
it is definately bad, but wont necessarily make it run bad it comes more into effect at high alt and really cold weather. ive tested it and it does very little for timing. you're popping back through the throttle body, thats why the t-bap is destroyed.
find out why it's popping back throught the throttle body, that is the root of the problem. btw, tps has a huge effect on timing, if it's messed up it will cause you to pop through the intake.

ok, got some news... Thanks for all the help by the way... Pulled valve cover off and noticed a limp rocker not moving much at all. I pulled head off and cylinder, pulled out lifter and the bottom was completely concave... So the rocker could not move as the bottom of lifter was bad... Maybe bad oil over time, bad lifter, I dont know but it is bad... I ordered new lifter, new rings and gasket kit... Then I will have to reassemble and see from there but bad lifter was my problem for now... will keep u all posted as I fix and thanks again...

When you bought the rzr, was it doing the problem right then or started some time after you had it? first case scenario, the last owner should pay for some of the repair or refund you something big time... second case scenario, was it a progressive type power lost? just so we know what to expect if the same problems starts appearing.
