Has anyone else had the weld break on rear bracket that holds axle. Got my sons on trailer tonight sproket was rubbing on cover, then found welds broke. Third trip on 2010 first trip broke both running boards.he can run though small amount of water and it dies. Hard to start but air box is dry. My rzr has been buller proof but my 7 year old my be to much for the 170.

My daughters broke also, not sure if in the same spot but was going to happen sooner or later. I rewelded the tubing added a few gussets and plated the underside. Won't happen again

Our swing arm had a crack showing on both the rear crossmember and the left bottom shock mount. Not broke YET. Showed it to my dealer and they are fixing under the extended waranty...no questions asked. The replacement swingarm is a different part number than the original, so hopefully some improvements have been made.

I had the crossmember re-welded, better than factory that is, and now it appears that the trans housing has a crack or something causing it to leak. I noticed the fluid on the ground after the break but was hoping it was a seal or something... I saw another post talking about their trans breaking and chain coming off... It will barely move in forward or reverse... It's a shame that the 170 has had so many problems for what they cost!

I just happened to keep the damaged swingarm in case I needed it for parts...anyhow, I just compared it to the replacement swingarm I had to purchase last year, and indeed, it is slightly changed. Where the outside boxed steel frame sweeps up, they have added a steel plate / gusset on each side to reinforce the curved section - and this is exactly the point where my old swingarm was bent. I guess I got lucky by having the new revised version of the swingarm.

Save yourself time and money and a ruined riding trip and buy the Factory UTV swing arm. I had a 3/16 steel plate welded to the bottom to act as skid plate, gussets added to every corner and bend and it just s broke in the only spot we didn't put metal. My welded was the best, had it on plate bench and made sure everything was squared up and bushing holes were exact height off bench.

Do you think the new swing arm design is as good as the FUTV swing arm. I am tired of messing with this and need to have it repaired again soon for an upcoming trip. We have a 2012 and have welded it twice and this time it is coming off. I don't want to pay the extra shipping cost to get the FUTV in time and found a 2014 swing arm in stock at the local dealer. Any thoughts?

Our forum member price is $429 + shipping. We use top quality components like 1 1/4 inch chromoly steel tubing, CNC machined ÂĽ inch high tensile steel axle holders and 15,000 lb chromoly adjustable heim rod ends. Ours also includes a full coverage UHMW skid plate which protects the arm and makes bashing over obstacles a breeze.
