Tusk terrabite review?

Anyone get any miles on the tusk terrabites? Looking for some reviews. Feedback on these vs say a tensor or any comparable tire would be great.

Re: Tusk terrabite review?

As noted elsewhere. They certainly run small. My 28's are 27" high mounted with 13psi

There are some reviews around here. Best one I've read so far since I'm on the east coast myself

https://www.rzrforums.net/wheels-tire...ast-coast.html

We've had some happy customers also

Re: Tusk terrabite review?

MSA M30 Throttle 30" Tusk Terrabite 15psi front 16psi rear. Any more air in rear gets a little lite on the rear end. Not much riding yet will reply heading to WV next month.

Tusk terrabite review?

I added my thoughts on the terrabite east coast thread above. Some good, some bad...I'll run them until they r worn out, but doubt I would buy them again for west va riding

Re: Tusk terrabite review?

Another 100 brutal miles on them today and I kept them at 15psi. They r so good on hard pack I am liking them more and more. Certainly not as good in loamy conditions as others, but as long as you keep wheelspin in check, they work well. 15psi feels stiff still, but for how we ride, I can't go any lower. If I can get 1500-2000 miles from them (especially rotating them), I'd be happy. Wish hey were true to size though

Re: Tusk terrabite review?

I have zero feedback on the terrabites but i did notice you mentioned the tensors. We run the same trails in NH and I did not like the tensors at all for our terrain. They were incredible on the road and tough as nails but the handling characteristics for our type of terrain was less than desirable. For example running up the windmill road heading to the top of dixville notch was like driving on marbles. I felt like i had no control. due to the wide footprint steering was also difficult and i felt alot of pull side to side on the trails. I ended up ditching the tensors and went with the maxxis carnivores. Night and day difference. They definitely wont last as long as tensors but performance wise, they blow the tensors out of the water for our area. composed and predicable. All around im truly thrilled with them. I was so happy with them that when i traded in my 900S for an xpt i decided to try selling my 28 carnivores to replace them with 30" carnivores. 30" terrabites crossed my mind but I think im going to stick with the carnivores.

Re: Tusk terrabite review?

THanks bro. There is a lot of street/dirt road riding up north, that's why I considered the regulator or terrabites, but I have been leaning towards carnivores also.

Re: Tusk terrabite review?

Only downside with carnivores is the load rating. Like 550lbs

Re: Tusk terrabite review?

I hear ya. They are a really lightweight tire. Only plus side to that is i felt no power loss on my 900S. I cant speak for longevity on them because I only put about 300 miles on them before trading in machine. I put them through their paces but still not enough time on them to truly say they are a strong tire. All i can trust is the feedback ryan snyder from planet rzr has received and so far its been mostly positive. I would like to hear what others think about the tusk tires after purchase as well. The overall design looks as though it would perform similar to the carnivore but from what i understand they dont run true to size witch to me is a big downfall. However, if they turn out to be tough and less prone to punctures in our type of terrain it almost makes up for it. picking tires should be much easier than this shouldnt it? hahaha

Re: Tusk terrabite review?

My 30" Terrabites measure 29.5" on a 7" wide wheel, with 13psi.

Finally got to try them out yesterday, and they worked great. I was still able to do the difficult sections at our local park, and easily made it through a rock garden, that I got hung up on with the stock setup.

Re: Tusk terrabite review?

Hey MMX, was that measurement on the rzr or just aired up and not with the rzr sitting on them? I am on the fence between staying with 30" and buying the terrabites or moving up to 32" and buying the regulators. Too bad the terrabites dont come in 32". If the terrabites measure 29 1/2" mounted and on the rzr I would be okay with that, but my blackwater 30" only measure 28" or so!!!

Re: Tusk terrabite review?

My black waters measure just a hair under 30" on the rzr , I've heard 28" 29" 30" is the difference in how people are measuring
