would you like to see aftermarket wheels in stock offset??

ive been trying to talk MSA into building some wheels in a stock offset.

seems like every aftermarket affordable option is adding 1" to 4" width to your machine.

out here on the east, id like to have a non stock wheel but still keep it under the flares.

just curious what everyone else's opinions are.

I know here locally I have guys daily decide to not buy wheels and try to find tires for their stock wheels because they don't want the extra width.

Re: would you like to see aftermarket wheels in stock offset??

I had been researching wheels for quite some time before STI popped out the HD5 with 5+2. The "..+2" is the magic number in my opinion to maximize the stance and keep it "virtually" 50".

I absolutely love my msa wheels. Ive had 3-4 sets. Currently have the M21's. But hate that they add 2" to each side. And in turn you have half the tire sticking out past the flare.

The stock offset has its place but is butt ugly.

Stock offset is a must for us. We ride a lot where they have 50" width restrictions with gates

Re: would you like to see aftermarket wheels in stock offset??

I've got a set of STI HD3's in 6+1 that I'm relatively happy with, but other options would be great. MSA's designs are great but adding 4" of width to my machine wasn't an option.

Re: would you like to see aftermarket wheels in stock offset??

I just ordered the RMR wide flares. that's gona help a lot, but would still like the MSA styling in a 5+2 wheel.

Okay, I've got a question for everyone. How would you feel about stock wheels with beadlocks? We're going to do it one way or another, just curious on opinions. It will probably add about a half inch of width to each wheel, nothing substantial. Thoughts?

me personally I don't "need" beadlocks. for me its more about the looks of something aftermarket and a different look than stock wheels. Id be just as happy with a non beadlock.

I don't understand why every single manufacture builds wheels with no thought about what they are replacing.

a half inch or maybe a inch is fine. but when your buying wheels for your car or truck, you wouldn't buy a set that is 2-4 inches wider offset.

Re: would you like to see aftermarket wheels in stock offset??

I agree completely. I hate the extra width but hate the look of the factory wheels worse. i always manage to get through the tight spots while everyone with stock wheels zip right through. Also there is a huge difference in the amour of mud you have to deal with when you extend the tires out. We made flare extenders which are a necessity when going to a wider offset. i'd be all over a set of chrome M12's like I have now in a narrower offset.

Re: would you like to see aftermarket wheels in stock offset??

It seems like msa is more interested in looks rather than function for us trying to keep or sxs close to stock. With a 1000 a wheel with a 4+3 off set isn't a whole lot better than their 0 offset or 3.5+3.5. For me its stock or a 5+2. There are not too many options out there.
Meathod, STI, ITP ...beyond these the wheels are more than I care to spend.

Old enough to know better but still too young to care!
