Anyone using them? If so, would like to hear any comments, reviews, brands, and where to get them.
Been thinking about getting some, scared to death someone is goin put there arm out if the RZR ends up belly side up.

haha, yeah, sorry about that!

I have them, haven't installed all of them yet... I put one on each outside rear harness for the outside hand. I often have young uns back there and that way I know that arm is inside the vehicle. The door is too high for the other arm to make it's way out when they are harnessed in.

Wrist restraints??? Ya, use 'em on my wife all the time; really spices things up..........LOL.

Seriously though, I used to have them for my old Odyssey (you needed 'em with that thing) but I haven't felt compelled to equip my RZR with them............yet. Kind'a like a parachute; you don't really need one 'til you really, REALLY need one and then its perceived value increases exponentially as your body gets ever-closer to the ground...........LOL.

Cheers

Yep, that's what I was thinkin' only in my case it's my girlfriend. Never thought about using them on her in the RZR too :rofl3:
Now if we can just come up with a way to use safty as an excuse for using a gag on her while riding ~ maybe say it will protect her teeth in the event of a roll-over like the mouth protectors boxers wear during fights! :rofl3: :rofl3: :rofl3:

Last Oct my wife was a passenger riding with another gir, they rolled it wish she would of had them on, She always wears a seatbelt so far her index finger had 13 screws and a plate, 50k later and she still has to have another surgery to finish it.

I would say all passengers should be required to wear them.

Ouch, I always tell Kirika and any other passengers that if it starts to roll to grab the grab handle with BOTH hands and do not let go at all, no matter what they feel like, until it either comes to a complete stop or it's clear it wont actually roll.

Telling them a thousand times won't make them do it..
Natural reaction is to reach out..short of physical exposure to the scenario and training muscle memory to go for the grab bar chances are most will stick their ars out to "catch" themselves from falling in a real scenario where "fight or flight" gross motor control takes over.

Yep..without repeated realistic training involving having your body roll or multiple cases of actual rolls and getting lucky anyone who says "I'd never stick my arm out" is only kidding themselves.

There is a reason I get in a simulated aircraft and have it roll and then drop me into a swimming pool multiple times and then i have to escape before i drown lol...talking about it doesn't work..wrist restraints are a good idea.

Yep, Kirika I'm confidant in, she was a champion gymast and well trained to control her natural instincts... She'd grab it and hold on for dear life, but others I tell that too I have no way of knowing if they'd let their instincts ovewhelm their good sense in an emergency.

After looking back we with there was an ohs*t bar on the inside of the roll bar, if it had one she might of grabbed it and been better off. She grabbed the roll bar and the weight of the razor crushed her finger, thumb and broke the middle finger, nothing they can do about the thumb it healed up fine, the broke finger healed but the index finger has another surgery to go.

We are welding a inside grab bar welded on our razors just for added safty.

That's terrible, Swimnow, and I'm really sorry to hear about this unfortunate event. RZR's are supposed to be fun, not injurious. I hope she heals quickly and well.

I watched a girl lose her fingers in a jeep roll over just after telling her dont hold that roll bar like that!!! So I was very vocal about telling everyone I rode with to hold on in the correct places and protect your little ones riding with you. Well guess what rolled my rzr's' in 2010 flew through the air upside down quite a ways and yes right before impact reached up and grabbed the cage! At first felt very very stupid because I had told everybody that seen it happen not to do that. Then someone said later at the hospital while they were trying to figure out what to do with my hand that was broke in 6 places hey its natural reaction. (wrist restraints yes!!!) P.S. This was in the sand if it was in the woods I would now be Captain Hook.

I told the wife every time we rode if we roll over just hold onto the grab handle. I thought if I told her enough it would stick. The first time I flipped over I was by myself see my avatar. If pic was bigger you would see my arm outside the RZR under the net.

After that I put wrist restraint on the right side for both of her hands and one for my out side hand. She loves them and wears them all the time. I only use mine when I doing something I think could end up with a roll over as it dose make it harder to drive.

At least I know my wife wont loose a hand or arm do to my driving. I use DJ straps and would recommend straps for all passengers. When all of your instincts are yelling put you arms up to break the fall you only have 1 second to think I did pull my arm back in in the nick of time and just got a small cut on my elbow but it was very close to being very bad.

WE also use HELMETS and 5 point harness and full doors that wont open, all the time.
In sand you need a roof also. It is scary how deep a RZR can sink into the sand in a roll over thats also why I have the doors. My buddy had a bad roll over in very soft sand it came to a stop on the right side he had no passenger thank god as his RZR 4 was in the sand so deep that half of the right side seat was under the sand. You need surface area to stay on top of the sand (doors and roof). As my friend says safety is no accident

From my research that is definitely NOT what you want to use.

All the research I have done says get the type of restraints that hook in with your 5 points. That way in an emergency as soon as you undo your belt you are free to escape the car. We had them on my mini rail and they are great. very comfortable and easy to drive with. you set them just short enough so your arm cant get out of the car. I think ours were Crow? Fully adjustable for arm size and length and clipped in with the 5 point latch.

Will never own a rail or RZR without them!!!

I agree with the post about human instinct trumping common sense. I have 2 ex-wives that proves that theory.
I googled wrist restraints this morning....Southerngypsy might want to check that out....after about 1/2 hr or so, I realized there was nothing about motorsports safety gear. Added racing in the search phrase and found there are a lot of options out there.
As many have posted...I am really worried about my passengers, mostly, and myself getting hurt. Don't want to rely on being lucky.

I never thought about this risk before. I'm definitely gonna get a couple of sets. I'm currently using the DF 4 pt harnesses. I'll check with them tomorrow, but I don't think they offer restraint straps with their products. At least I didn't find them on their web page. I haven't found any "wrist restraints" anywhere on the internet, but have found "arm restraints". Which type of safety restraints should I be looking for to be used on my XP? Wrist or arm?
