mine ran great down to 0 F at camp this year. i made sure i let it warm up a bit before i ran it and noticed the shocks dont work well at all in the cold.

 

I would say the driver would suffer the most. :cold_md_wht:

ive got an under dash block off kit and a half windshield and it wasnt to bad to drive, a hell of alot better then my 4 wheeler.

 

On the '08 RZR's there was some trouble with water getting on the throttle cable and freezing, which locked your throttle either open or closed. Not sure if they fixed this problem on the new models, but it's a good idea to keep a can of WD40 with ya if you get wet anywhere.

 

My throttle froze and put me and my snow blower in the bush !!!
I guess all the river crossings are catching up !!!

A cable luber is on the way !!!

Mine was brand new last week and we had a foot of snow and it was single digits.
It ran fine and blasted through the snow. I even heard the fan come on
A few days later we had a meltdown and I noticed there was snow packed everywhere I spent an hour digging it out of everywhere.
If it froze again. I could see it tearing up a CV boot or something.

 

Fixed or not, maybe a dab of some sort of sealant/lube on the ends of the throttle cable might be a good idea just to help keep any moisture out of there!

 

starter makes funny noise at at about 5 deg. out battery isnt that good either goes dead after sitting in the cold for a few days i bought my rzr in 4/5/08

 

My battery drains fast in the cold also, picked up a $20 1.5A battery float charger at Wal-Mart and it has been fine down to -10F so far. No problems with running in the cold weather yet either, let it warm up for a few minutes and take it easy for a few more and you should be fine.

 

polaris knows cold weather they have been making snowmobils sence 1950's, check what wt. of oil u r using

 

i use 0w20 oil cranks over good when battery is working but battery just SUCKS and starter sounds like dry bearing noise my arctic cat snowmobile makes the same noise sometimes when very cold

 

My main concern was the suspension and any possible engine seal problems.
My Sportsman 500 blew out both front struts in minus 15 degrees C.
Not covered by warranty of course.
I desperately want to finish the break in but its going to be minus 25 to 30 C here for the next two weeks.
I love Canada but, some time's, I gotta tell ya..............
I will probably drive and be the guy updating on what not to do.

 

I have a snow blower on mine, Kimpex 48 in , 13hp honda , all is good except the water freezing the throttle , it does not mind the cold !

 

How does the snowblower work on your RZR? What brand and where did you get it? How far does it blow the snow?

 

my AWD wouldnt come on for 5 -8 miles, but eventually it did, the snow was staring to get deep here in the mountains so im glad it came on !

 

i agree with the cranking noise in cold weather it sounds like the battery is alittle dead after running alittle it stopped

 

i've been driving mine and its been up to -28 C but i got a windshield on so its acutally not that bad. i only found the ride was rough cause of the shocks(no the greatest) the seats are more stiff. and found that the awd switch would either keep it in awd or just keep it off(but thats cause its cold out) but still managed to get it to work just by hitting the switch a little harder lol
