I made four windshields. I use the Half most of the time - the Full is used in the winter.

A must is the windshield be Hard Coated on Both Sides or it will scratch!

I like a full windshield year round to keep dust, dirt, snow and the cold air off of my face.

The full is nice, but it creates a negative pressure behind it that sucks in a lot of dust during the summer. It's a double edged sword--keeps the dust out from in front of you, but you'll still get it on the inside from behind.

To fix it, either add a back window, or use something like the previously mentioned tilt windshield, or J Strong makes one that fold over frontwards. That's what I have and I love it.....it takes about 5 seconds to fold it over. I think it was about $150ish

can I recommend a new XP? you will be dusting them and you will have a warm toasty smile .

What did you use to make your windshields out of I looked into plexiglass but by the time I buy it and put labor in it I could just buy 1
stop by my shop = have a piece or clear lexan you can have - it would make a good half - its about 20" x 6' .188 or quarter.

hey come to think of it I have a full Polaris one that came with mine. 1st guy bought it. 26 hrs. I think both of us just moved it around our garage. may not have ever been on. I'm trading in but the dealer never saw it. Forgot I had it.

I have the Polaris LNR full windshield and took it on it's first ride sunday. The conditions were partly cloudy, almost no breeze, 6-8 inches of snow, and the air temp was about 17F. WOW! how nice to not need my goggles to keep the wind while driving out of my eyes. We had also installed the under dash block-off kit and were quite happy doing 30-45mph in the snow. Yes a very small amount of snow powder finds its way onto the dash and floor, but compared to the blockage of wind it was well worth it. It takes a small amount of effort to snap it on and off the roll cage, but I like having the option to ditch it if i want. I have to say I liked the ride so much I'll bet it stays. No scratches yet...its polycarbonate (tougher than plexiglas) and I gave it a few coats of rain-x. Time will tell...

This summer the dust coming in while driving will prob be a bigger factor and I am already thinking of adding the poly rear panel later this year.

I just pulled my full wind shield off this last trip to OW. Wow what a differnce. I don't smell anymore exhaust in the cab. Mine seemed to create some sort of vortex that drew the exhaust from the rear into the cab.

If I ever go back with it I will cut the bottom off up to the first side mount clip about 4 to 5 inches off the bottom and re-install it that way and try it. That way you don't get wind in your face and should hopefully have enough air running through the bottom of to force the exhaust out of the cab.

I'm not really seeing how the half winshields work if they are from the bottom up half way.

This subject comes up a lot. I was advised to buy the Polaris flip-out windshield by my dealer, he guaranteed me I woild not regret it, and I do not.

It does not look to me like it is going to scratch up easily, I have been whacking branches with it.

It is very well designed, especially the function of the latch. Allows you to have it open at the bottom just an inch or so, keeps dust out of your cab.

You can ride with the W/S flipped all the way up as well, but might not be recommended for high speeds on rough terrain in that position.

No it sticks out but at full opened position its only got a gap about 6 inches wide. So basically the top half of your neck/face are still covered. When you want to go half windshield, then take the top half off. 34 Ford is correct though, the bends do get in the way a bit but it wasnt enough to bother me.

A buddy of mine went to the local auto-glass shop and they cut him a piece of glass (same as automotive windshield). He then made a metal frame to go around the glass... works perfect and looks awesome. He also put a manual winshield wiper at the top through the metal frame.

I think the glass cost him about $100.

Looks to me like the Kolpin is made much the same as the pure polaris. I now have 1800 miles on my ride in just less than a year, and the majority of it is trail riding in the rocky mountains here. No scratches on the filp-out W/S, and I would still buy it again.

My friend just surprised me with buying a 2012 Pursuit like mine, and the flip-out is the first accessory he had put on besides the horn and rear view mirror.
