Windshield and roof questions

I’m impatiently waiting for my new buggy to arrive. While is do, I’m starting to buy and stack up parts for when it comes in. I was planning on the Polaris aluminum roof and a SuperATV fold down windshield. Is anyone using this setup together? Any issues. SuperATV daily’s that windshield won’t work with the poly roof but nothing about the aluminum one.

Are there better choices for an aluminum roof? I’ve heard Polaris accessories are taking just as long to get as the machines are!

Thanks!

Can’t speak to that combo, as I have a poly roof.

But, for sure don’t bank on getting ANY Polaris accessory not in stock in a timely manner.

I ordered inner doors on Jan 3rd. Their website originally said middle of January. It was they end of March before I got them. They just kept changing the expected availability date every two weeks.

The supplied clamps bend easily.
First tree you rub up against while you are off camber, 2 sometimes 3 clamps will bend every time.
Now you deal with the loudest of metal rattling
Sounds there must be out there.
The roof becomes loose and god damn is it annoying.
I just fixed 4 clamps tonight that have been loose for awhile now. Next step is too buy some conduit clamps and try those.

Sure, dont rub trees and you wont have an issue.

Thanks for the heads up. Guess I’ll look at other options.

I have polaris aluminium roof and have no issues - like how it looks - have not been in any situations roof was impacted. Mine has through bolts into tabs to hold it on, no clamps.

When I got my OEM roof installed - I did not look "up top" a few months later we were cleaning it and my son got up to wipe down roof - he said man how did you get all these scratchs - did you roll?

I had not - we surmized when at dealer before install they must have set the lid on the ground (asphalt) before the install and either someone walked across it or they were not careful picking it up - as no chance the damage was from shipping.

Given the cost of the aluminum roof is $729 I would not spend those $ again - I would put that money toward a cage, with roof and windshield all made by same shop, so it works seemlessly. You will spend few $ more than roof and windshield - but you will get custom cage to your liking, aded safetly and great overall accessories.

Cage Link:

Enjoy your car and get stuff ordered early, as it takes time to get stuff!

I bought an aluminum roof from R-1 industries by UTV Zilla. It has a similar profile to the Polaris roof, but bolts through holes in the tabs already on the cage. Good fit, no rattles, my only complaint is the washers supplied are a little small for the size of the slots in the roof. It was just over $200 with shipping. I'm using the Polaris half windshield, btw.

I'm on the std XPT, but use the Poo aluminum roof with the SATV fold down. No problems. I would buy SATV product over Poo if I had it to do over though.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I’m going with the SuperATV fold down windshield and either the UTV Zilla or AFX roof. Leaning towards the UTV Zilla. I like the Moto Armor roof as it’s a bit thicker. But it’s an extra $200 for it and the sunroof is not really something that’s important to me. Lol

I recently bought a roof from UTV Zilla and when I received my shipping label it was from moto armor. They don’t show the non sun roof model on their website but that’s where it came from.
buy more two side tape before you install it.
I will be removing mine and installing a lot more tape to stop the vibration noise. It really irritated me this weekend when we were out riding.
If you’re going to be buying a windshield I will strongly suggest buying either a screen or rear window. We sucked dust all weekend until I removed the half windshield. That created a different set of problems so we just dealt with the dust. Good thing my toy hauler has a 110 gallon tank so we could shower after the day was done.

I have the Moto Armor roof and dont think it is worth the extra money. It makes a ton of noise while riding, I have tried tightening it more, loosening it. I have the supplied weather striping between the cage and roof and it still makes noise.

PM Craig at Pro UTV Parts, he hooked me up with a good price on my moto armor roof. For me I could care less about the sunroof, but my landed price through him was better than any of the other options I was considering.

I added some stouter washers and spacer blocks when I installed it, and foam taped everywhere I possibly could, and haven’t had a single noise or rattle out of my roof in almost 400 miles. Not sure how it could make any noise.

I went ahead and ordered the UTV Zilla roof. Should be plenty good enough until I get a cage built. Based on yalls advice I’m going to line the entire cage with foam insulation before I lay the roof on it. That should minimize and vibrations.

Ya that is what I'm going to do with my roof for my new cage.

FWIW, I installed my UTV Zilla roof with only the included hardware and just putting the insulation on the front to rear bars of the rops. No rattles or squeaks for over 200 miles. Happy so far!

i have the polaris aluminum roof and super atv flip up windshield , works fine , got in some rain last week in Utah , with my rain suit i stayed nice and dry , flip up wind shied really helps with the heat issue , had a glass fixed position one on it at first .

I believe the UTV Zilla roof is $300 vs. $730 for the Polaris. I definitely don't want the rattling and am afraid the foam will deteriorate in the AZ heat. Debating spending the extra $$$ for the Polaris version so I can get them to cover it if it rattles. Then again, the $330 difference buys a storage box! What's a guy to do...

I went with an Axiom roof for my PRO XP and OEM half windshield
